It's a current obsession of mine, so I figured I'd start a new thread for it rather than re-purposing old threads that deal with different topics.

To review: PSE's creatives stink. (Look: I'm an old that used a young person's word.)

Most recently, the Cleveland Browns put out a clever and funny Office parody.

The. Cleveland. Browns.

Here's hoping PSE can start doing good things in the creative fun department. Let's track their progress - or lack thereof - in this thread.

Wasn't that Enzo sauce thing pretty funny? Or was it bad? I can't remember.

That was pretty good.

They gave Jack a hula hoop a couple years ago.  ?

Then they couldn't be bothered to have a new idea and gave Dahlin a hula hoop too. ?

Funking well right you are. I hadn’t even thought of that angle.

I kind of thought that was something that was part of a "groundbreaker" activity at prospect camp.  They probably had all the prospects mucking around with hula hoops and just happened to catch Jack and Dahlin on film.

This thread is giving me flashbacks to the terrible One Buffalo newsletter that was sent out back in April that felt like it was written by an 8th grader.

You are giving them too much credit.  It was more like a 5th, maybe even a 4th grader.

In Canada we do not have such nonsense.  One is in Grade 1 through 12 and not ... oh, never mind.

Ugh, so our team is a trash human resources orientation stunt?! Yuck!

The hula hoop thing at Larkinville is peculiar to the dog and pony show the franchise has done twice for highly touted 1st round draft picks. Dahlin rode about the same circuit that Eichel did — Dahlin got firefighters instead of kids at Roswell, I think.

Still my favorite Eichel moment: “Hey, everyone, this is Jack too!” Or something like that.

How about they get creative and ice a winning hockey team.

Sod off. This is a thread for critiquing their creative marketing efforts.

Of course I don't know for sure, but it's probably a case of friends hiring friends and the overall innovative talent level sinking as a result. There's probably some great ideas hiding in the newer hires who're getting shot down by the people who "know how to do it".

I could rant but I'll spare you. It's all about "homegrown talent" here in the bflo.

So yeah. It's super "forward thinking" to use scribbly handwritten font face... it's a step in the right direction at least but yeah... I'd love to see some truly neat, unique stuff. Maybe it's happening and it'll coincide with a good couple of years. Heh.

Not sure if the "homegrown talent" line was meant to be a comment on the team's braintrust, but just look at who's running the team. You might even say always looking for the familiar face (the old boys network?) is part and parcel of a losing culture.

Meh, doesnt bother me that they dont do any cheesey parody videos, or lip sync/dance videos for the internet. The Browns video was interesting, but it wont help them if they dont turn things around and win. Also doubt it helped them sell any tickets or merchandise.

I wont cry or complain that they dont do those types of things if they are winning games......

Yeah, more a comment on trying to be a professional in Buffalo (heck, the world) in general, but it's prevalent big and small here in what seems to be a much bigger way than other places. Course, I may be putting a shotgun in my piehole and pulling the trigger on any career at PSE with these comments but... I keep seeing a lot of good ol' boys get jobs over people I think are better qualified because they know the right dude (sports creative in general, not just here). I won't get into the male/female unfair rant here, but that's a part of it too in my experience. You'd think it'd be less of a problem when you have a portfolio to look at- a physical, visual log of talent, over say, a resume and some awards. Nope. Drives me bananas. Makes me sound arrogant too, I know. Sorry.

Such is life.

It could be worse.  They could be making non-funny videos with Snoop explaining hockey.

I actually like those even if they left out a few things and ran a few two many things.

His nature videos are hilarious.  His hockey videos seem like a lame attempt to recreate the hilarity from the nature ones.

Purports to be a screenshot of the depth chart page on the Bills’ website.

Ok, let's at least be fair.  It says "coming soon" in the bright red banner at the top.

This topic is OLD. A NEW topic should be started unless there is a VERY SPECIFIC REASON to revive this one.
