Where do the sabres rank in the division?

  1. 1. where do you see the Sabres finishing in the Atlantic?

    • Dead last
    • Battling with Montreal and Ottawa for the basement
    • Hanging with Detroit, out of contention but ahead of the dregs
    • On the bubble with Florida trying to reel in Boston or snag a wild card
    • In the top three

Send em to Rochester, If they don't clear waivers problem solved.

Cant do that, you would risk turning Rochester into a bad team. These guys are all about making sure the minor leagues are stocked with potential....

At best, they show some Improvement and make it to New Years before being pretty much eliminated from playoff contention.

Most likely they are fighting with Montreal and Ottawa to not be the worst team again.....

Until they start playing, the entire team is a giant question mark on whether they have truly upgrade anything.

Goaltending - lehner had to be upgraded, but will Ullmark in his first full season in the NHL be better? Is Hutton a slow developer and the real deal in possibly his first season ever playing more then 50% of the games?

Defence - Dahlin is a good upgrade, but will the one player be enough to see the teams defence improve? Will another year in Phil's system be better for everyone else?

Forwards - Kanes offence is gone, RORs defence and faceoffs are gone, being replaced by possibly another rookie and a couple of questionable veterans that St Louis dumped and one of their lesser top prospects. Will Sheary be an improvement while not playing with the Pittsburgh forwards? Sam and Jack will need to take some big steps forward also.

Coaching - is Housley the real deal or in over his head? Last year looked like over his head.

Was their really a huge issue I  the lockerroom that was preventing the team from playing well on the ice or is this more wishful thinking that addition by subtraction will work.....

Were some players bad seasons because of lingering injuries or are they just done/on the decline.

So far the front office moves may look like they have improved statistically/on paper depending on how rose colored your glasses are, but they have done anything to really saw they are hands down better then last season.........

We better be better then Montreal and Ottawa. For the love of God.

There is no chance those teams will be better than the Sabres. These teams are going to lead the CHL all year and then will be crying when Arizona finally wins the Hughes lottery.

Of course you can do that. What's more, those guys would probably be some of Rochester's best players. Matt Moulson looked like death warmed over playing for Buffalo at the end (0 points in 14 games) but produced at nearly a PPG pace (46 points in 49 games) in the AHL for the Kings minor league affiliate.
