Ho-Chi-Sock Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 Bad: I have an Eichel #15 that I probably won't be able to afford exchanging/modifying. Good: I have a Kane #9 t-shirt that I can slap some duct tape and write "EICHEL" on. Quote
Hoss Posted July 6, 2018 Author Report Posted July 6, 2018 The person with the most goals and assists in #15 was decades ago, if that helps. Also, the next phase could be even bigger than the contract if they show the front side of these photos and the C is on it. Quote

The first person to ever wear it for the team. So the first person to wear it has the most and the (current) last person to wear it has the second most. Edited July 6, 2018 by Hoss Quote
CallawaySabres Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 Personally, I think it's kind of cool to have the older number for all of the people that have number 15 already. If I had that, I would prefer it over the number 9 Quote
That Aud Smell Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 Twitter is lousy with dweebs crying over now having the "wrong" number. Quote

If spending the money on jerseys that could immediately go out of date is such a crisis then just do what I do: don't buy jerseys until the player is retired from hockey. 1 Quote
Randall Flagg Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 I much prefer the coming year's 9&26 to the previous year's 9&26. Quote

LTS Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 #15 isn't a number befitting a Captain. #9 most certainly is. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 Just now, LTS said: #15 isn't a number befitting a Captain. #9 most certainly is. This was more than half the reason I was waiting to buy an Eichel jersey. Quote

pastajoe Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 Fans are too impatient. I would wait until next year when they might go back to the old version. Quote

Eh, doesn't bother me. Just makes it all that much easier to tell that my kids' Eichel's were from the "ground floor." They were from the 1st season, but could either be 1st season or Oct-Dec of 2nd season by manufacturer & patches/lack thereof. Winter Classic bought w/ Sabres bucks after serious markdown will wear well too. Used to be able to tell you which year a Hasek was from as well just by looking at it too. 2 minutes ago, LGR4GM said: It is ridiculous with dahlin and now Eichel being new jerseys we don't have royal blue. Samson's Flow Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 As someone who has an Eichel #15 jersey, i'll still wear that with pride. Now it's retro. (#15 was my number all through my athletic career) Quote

Winston Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 At first I was bummed.. I wanted Eichel to own 15 and raise it to the rafters some day. But if he's good enough to raise a number to the rafters, I really don't give a #### which number it is! 9 is cool. And like others said, any #15 jerseys will be retro. If he leads us to the promise land, you can prove you were around well before the glory. No bandwagon Jack fans here ? Quote

Can't wait for everyone to be apoplectic again in 12 months when the uniforms change again. There's literally a guy whining to Jeremy White that his Winter Classic jersey "from 6 months ago" is outdated now. It's a one-time shot jersey from an outdoor game. It's not supposed to be current. 3putt Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 Jack is following the Rocket Richard Blue print.. #15 to #9 to 50 in 50 to HOF. Savvy. Quote
Mustache of God Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 I currently own 2 nameless Sabres jerseys. One is the stupid Navy "home" jersey with the stupid silver piping and pit stains. I also have an old school "home" jersey that I picked up from the Sabres store not too long ago that looks the home jerseys they wore from 87-96 (using this site as a reference: http://www.nhluniforms.com/Sabres/Sabres.html ) I reckon once they switch back to the Royal Blue's I might buy a Dahlin or Eichel depending on how their careers are projecting. With royal blue the home jerseys of course. Quote
Sabre1974 Posted July 6, 2018 Report Posted July 6, 2018 don't have a name or number on any of my sabres jerseys. although my next jersey I am considering getting one with the name and number. Quote
