Hoss Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 How about Anders Lee, brock Nelson and Andrew Ladd as a salary dump. Shores up our left wing. I'm tired of all these picks and prospects deals. If you want him, after the bonus payout, you gotta pay mofo. Anders Lee just scored 40 goals. I don't think you get him for O'Reilly and a 1st. Quote
inkman Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 Anders Lee just scored 40 goals. I don't think you get him for O'Reilly and a 1st. I agree. I was posturing as the "rumors" I've heard haven't been anywhere near enough. Quote
Thorner Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 For someone as good as Tavares probably not at 29. I don't think this is the case. He's an elite player, so his level of play during the decline will still be better than a lot of talented players in their prime, but I don't it's at the level of mid 20-s Tavares. Quote
Sabel79 Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 I'm just glad, more than anything, that JBOTs has thusfar avoided the GMTM trap of doing something stupid so as to not be seen doing nothing... Quote

IKnowPhysics Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 (edited) Neal, Nash and DeHaan still out there. I'm in on Calvin de Haan. E5. Legitimate #4 LD stay-at-home type, and that's something we definitely need and have money for. Don't overpay, and we're good. Edited July 1, 2018 by IKnowPhysics Quote
North Buffalo Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 Comeau to Dallas, Namestikov staying with Rangers per Lebrun Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 Neal, Nash and DeHaan still out there. And you were talking about Riley Nash, not Rick Nash, I say yes definitely. Versatile middle six forward than can be a good 3rd line defensive center and has the potential to be responsible speedy winger. Depth and talent we need. Quote

It's amazing how quickly everyone forgets Okposo and Moulson deals.it's more amazing how everyone forgets how excited they were for the Sabres to make those moves because those were guys the same fans trashing them now thought they should have been making. LTS Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 As always... if you want to critique the performance of a GM you should present some evidence of what deal was out there that would have been available for the GM to make. Just because a player signed somewhere for reasonable money doesn't mean that player wanted to come to Buffalo. I'm meh about all of it. It's UFA day.. the day when many GMs make huge mistakes. Quote
North Buffalo Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 Rousell to Nucks KUnitz, Cam Ward and Brandon Manning to Hawks Quote

He very much made moves to I prove the team. Nothing blockbuster, though. Still might come with the ROR trade if such a thing happens. The headline-grabbing high dollar signings made with what appears to have been little regard for how this impacts the team going forward though? Nah. I love KO and lament the hand he's been dealt, and was happy to have Moulson back when it happened.. but both are (slightly different) cautionary tales. And, lest we forget, how much better was the team after signing either of them? Quote
Hoss Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 A popular name off the board Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 13s Riley Nash to Columbus. 3 years, $2.4 mil per. Quote

Hoss Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 I'd have liked that deal. He corrected it: Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 13s Correction, $2.75 x 3 for Nash. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 He corrected it: Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 13s Correction, $2.75 x 3 for Nash. That's higher than I'd have liked to pay, but it's not Jay Beagle horrible or anything. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 Derp. Would have been nice, but I wasn't married to it. $2.75 is a little stiff. Quote

We just traded Hutton for Lehner It's not even a day into UFA. There have been some depth signings I'd have liked, but there's still some out there we might be in on. At least give it until midnight :p Quote

North Buffalo Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 Bozak and Perron signed by St Louis so guessing St Louis pulling offer. Quote
