North Buffalo Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 College guy... Fasching wasnt gonna make it here... so why not.. Quote
Huckleberry Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 AHL fourth liner for us last year, kinda sad what we lost in that McNabb trade. No room for him on the big club anyways, better than losing him on waivers for nothing. Quote
pi2000 Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 Fasching was really hyped up as a prospect. He scored in his first game, and then was mostly downhill from there. He had a solid background, was hyped up as a solid character guy, hardworking, etc.... and yet here we are. You just never know with kids that age I guess. Quote
Brawndo Posted June 14, 2018 Author Report Posted June 14, 2018 The #Sabres also acquired Mike Sislo in the deal, who scored 47 points in 68 games with the Tucson Roadrunners [AHL] this season @WKBW Per Matt Bove Quote

He'd have been better had he forgone the NCAA for the Swiss league. Edited June 14, 2018 by ubkev Quote

Brawndo Posted June 14, 2018 Author Report Posted June 14, 2018 Sabres AGM Steve Greeley recruited him to BU Quote
pi2000 Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 So the Sabres are specifically targeting two types of players... Swedish or former BU Terriers ...now if there was just a swedish former BU Terrier.... JBOTs head would explode. Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 We're trading a LHD before this is over. Quote
Huckleberry Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 We're trading a LHD before this is over. That was obvious before this trade even. Dhalin Scandella McCabe Guhle Pilut Mike Sislo might be a good AHL addition. Quote
dudacek Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 (edited) I really liked Hudson as a prospect, mostly the way he worked the boards. I envisioned him growing into a heavy LA style 15/15 guy. But that was in another GMs system and the way he finished the year made this inevitable. Hope he can find a niche elsewhere, seemed like a great kid. Kulikov, Gionta, Deslauriers, Moulson, Kane, Gorges, Fasching, soon-to-be-be Lehner and O’Reilly? Tim Murray’s Sabres quickly becoming a memory. Edited June 15, 2018 by dudacek Quote
That Aud Smell Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 Seems like a fair deal, for both teams. Nice that Fasching also garnered a top-6 AHL asset. Go, Roch! Quote
Brawndo Posted June 15, 2018 Author Report Posted June 15, 2018 Brandon Hickey's agent, Kevin Epp, told @AZSports back in March that he didn't expect to sign with the Coyotes. He wanted a chance at a bigger role than he thought was available in Arizona. Per Craig Morgan Quote
dudacek Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 (edited) Hickey was a Flames 3rd rounder, traded to the Coyotes almost exactly one year ago for Mike Smith. Was good enough to play for team Canada in the 2016 WJC. So, similar project to Fasching. The Greeley connection might mean they think they can sign him. Sislo might be in the plans for Rochester, but I’d say he’s more likely just a contract Arizona demanded we take to match the one they were taking on. A 30-year-old minor league journeyman middle-sixer. Edited June 15, 2018 by dudacek Quote

JJFIVEOH Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 (edited) To be fair, the Kings don't have anything left from the trade. One of the 2nd round picks is still buried in the AHL, the other isn't even with the organization any more. And Jonathan Parker has played for 7 different teams in the ECHL. in 3 years. In fact he's retired. Edited June 15, 2018 by JJFIVEOH Quote
