I don't think he's very good at the defense

If he was good at defense he’d still be in the NHL. Just think both Buffalo and Montreal think  Baloo is a better hockey player then Redmond.

Significantly. He's really just a PP specialist. A man without a position, except the point on the PP.

And he's only on an AHL contract, so if sauve's question was hinting at the possibility of him getting a call up, the answer is no.

He was re-signed to do exactly what he is doing and that is being a veteran leader and productive player in the AHL.

So with Delo playing for the Habs and Redmond a star in the AHL, how do we evaluate this trade?

I would evaluate it on if Delo would be a Sabres starter. I think the answer there is no. Redmond has more value then giving the overall organization something in Rochester. That's my view.

Kevin Porter and Chris Taylor have mentioned how valuable Redmond has been for Amerks in terms of leadership as well as his 5 GWGs in 14 Games.

I would agree that he is more valuable.

Awesome.

Does anyone know who's in the band?

The three guys on the right are Hickey, Borgen, and Olofsson, I think. Asplund is second from the left. Not sure about the 1st and 3rd guys are.

Amerks close out a three in three weekend in  Hartford vs the Wolfpack this afternoon. Down 3-1 at the start of the third but win it in regulation 4-3. Asplund, Pilut, O’Reagen and Redmond.

Last night they were in Providence. Came back to tie in the third only to lose in OT.  Bailey with the only 2 Amerks goals.

They were in Springfield Friday night. It was tied 1-1 at the end of one but when I checked back in halfway into the second they were down 7-1! Holy chit! Ended up losing 9-4.

I guess 3 out of 6 points in an away trip playing three in three isn’t too bad. Still in first in the division by 5 points.

Lawrence Pilut sits 2nd in PPG behind only Cory Conacher in the AHL for players who have played a minimum of 5 games.

That's an odd qualifier to throw out there.  Is there some guy who has only played 1 game but scored 8 PP goals??

There's 6 players who have played 2 games or less and have either 2 or 3ppg. Just feel like you need a minimum games played otherwise you can play really well in 1 game and be tops in PPG.

Actually, now I'm confused.  I just looked at the AHL stats and I see Pilut with 2 PP goals while Redmond is tied for the league lead with 6.  Conacher has 1.  Did you list the wrong stat there or am I having a total brain fart right now?

edit:  Ahhhh crap.  Points per game instead of powerplay points.

Yea, sorry. Points Per Game, ppg. I should have specified.

The games played qualifier makes so much more sense now.  I can't count the number of times I've seen a guy disqualified from winning the Rocket Richard trophy because he only played 4 games.

Pilut now a +22 in just 17 games....myyyyy goodness.

His team relative +/- is around a +18... astounding.   They've played 17 games, his presence alone is good for just about one goal per game.
