Jack Eichel: Joking around with a buddy he hasn't worked out with in 4 years.

That looks bad for your wrists.

I'm not a clean and jerk expert  but that excersize looks dangerous to all sorts of body parts. Glad he's working out, not sure why there is a video of it.

"I still got it." So he's where he was last offseason maybe?

Slacker.

Or he's working out a with a friend he hasn't worked out with in 4 years saying things "I still got it" because it is a joke about them 4 years ago.

Lol.

I suspect he doesn't work out in that manner during the season.

Or maybe at all when he's not with this buddy of his.

I've read some paragraphs from NHL nutritionists/personal trainers, and many of them tell their clients to just sleep as much as they can and eat as well as they can for the first few weeks after the season ends before they get into their offseason workout, and then they start ramping up and rebuilding what the hockey season turns their muscle into back into muscle again.

So I wouldn't be surprised if Jack is as "weak" as he ever is right now, but will be finely tuned as September is ending.

I don't really care. I don't even see that much value in what he's doing there. I wonder how many of those Gretzky did. I just want to see the Eichel of the second half of last season in the first half of next season when it really counts — that Eichel, and then some, because that's the Eichel everyone envisioned, not the 36th in points per game Eichel of last season.

What’s up with the stuffed animals (or very relaxed dogs)? Why isn’t he using the Captain America weights?

They are not stuffed. Just totally transfixed by Eichel's beast mode.

Lighten up, Francis. An offseason feat of strength with an old friend has nothing to do with anything. Just a bit of fun.

Well, we have a thread about it indicating he's stronger, faster and better.

Yea, because this matters at all.

Also if you don't care then go find another thread to "not care" in. Wait, I am a lazy millennial but good at the computers, I will go create that thread for you!

It's a better title. Thank you.

Here's what the poster said:

Jack Eichel hang cleans 275x5 like it’s nothing. This is very, very impressive stuff. If you’re a hockey fan, you know Jack as a NHL All-Star who is one of the best young players in the league. If you’ve followed me for awhile, you’ll recognize Jack as the kid who used to do amazing gym feats with me back in middle school and high school (he cleaned 300 pounds when he was 16). We haven’t trained together for four years since I moved to LA and he went to college and now the pros, so it’s great to have him come visit me and throw some weights around for old times sake. He had an unmatched work ethic as a kid and has continued that into his pro career, which is why he’s been so successful.

Id blow out my quads just thinking about lifting that much and dislocate my shoulders first if I tried to tug on that much, not to mention what it’d do to my back.... oof.
