LGR4GM Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Winnipeg might be looking to an asset as long as the team takes Mason as well I'll trade them for Connor, Mason and Jansen Harkins. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Sobotka, three years ago, would have been an awesome piece to add. He's still one I'd bring in, but he might have neutral-to-negative value at this point. He'd upgrade our bottom six, but isn't the kind of guy I'd bring in to a good team that has depth already. WildCard Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 @Matt_Bove Few quick notes — Plan is to start Pilut in ROC. Botterill still hoping to get a deal done with Wilson, despite no offer. He’s had constant communication with Reinhart’s agent. I’ll post interviews shortly @WKBW Quote
Radar Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Hutton sucks. Many seem to not agree with you based on some things I've read. Haven't any first hand knowledge but believe I read he played well in his games this year. Quote

dudacek Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 They're all wrong. By all accounts Hutton was very good last year. I still agree with you. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 That's the fun thing about goalies: they can have a good year without actually being good. Quote
apuszczalowski Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Hutton had a great year for St Loyis last year and part of the reason they want to keep him. Problem is he is over 30 and a career backup so who knows what you will get as many of those types of goalies end up in bad contracts cause their good year was a fluke or isnt replicated again. I would hope they could do better if the plan is Ullmark and a FA/trade. I would prefer Anderson or maybe Bernier. At least Anderson has had multiple good years and more experience as a #1. Apparently Hutton is looking for a spot where he can be the #1, and has about 5 teams (CHI, BUF, NYI,and 2 others) that he is focusing on since he would have the best chance of having a starting job there. Wouldn't hate the signing, might be a good stop gap at the #1 spot for a couple seasons with Ullmark slowly taking over, or earning the spot by playing better. I wouldn't be excited about it though. Quote
jsb Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Hutton is a career back-up, sucks sounds like way too strong a word for him though. He has a .918---.913 and a .931 save % over his last 3 years. 2.33--- 2.39 and a 2.09 GAA in that same timeframe. Is he a #1 goalie, probably not but he's a good backup for Ullmark until he proves his worth also. Blackhawks are in on this and so is the NY Islanders, will probably have to overpay to get him from them. Quote
WildCard Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 @PierreVLeBrun The expectation is that Joe Thornton is staying put in San Jose. No hurry to get his deal done, what his contract looks like depends on who else the Sharks can add (hint, hint). To be clear, the Sharks absolutely have room to sign John Tavares and keep Thornton, too. Quote

Brawndo Posted June 25, 2018 Author Report Posted June 25, 2018 #LAKings will not be qualifying 25-year-old forward Tobias Rieder ($2.25m), making him a potential UFA on July 1. Fast bottom six defensive forward. From Dreger As expected, significant interest with 10-plus teams engaged with the James van Riemsdyk camp. JvR is a deliberate and thorough guy, my sense is he will use the entire time available to work through the process. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Tobias Rieder is probably the only reason we have Jack Eichel instead of Dylan Strome. He can't be worse than all three of our 4th line this coming season, so I'd bring him in to compete Quote

Randall Flagg Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 ? He's the only reason Arizona won some of their last 41 games, and we finished in last by 2 points. By that I mean he was a decent two-way forward on a disastrous tank team. Quote
thewookie1 Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 I'd like Reider, and I might even be curious in grabbing Duclair Quote

LGR4GM Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Supposedly his problem is mental Judging from what I have heard coming out of Buffalo these days, he isn't on their list then. I think internally motivated individuals with strong mental makeup is a priority for this GM. Quote
thewookie1 Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Rieder would be a great pick up however Quote

WildCard Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 @PierreVLeBrun Michal Kempny's strong playoffs with the Cup champions translating into lots of interest, 7-8 teams have already called for the UFA blue-liner. The Capitals also remain in the mix and are the only team, of course, who can sign him now before the market opens Sunday Quote
darksabre Posted June 25, 2018 Report Posted June 25, 2018 Defensive defenseman if ever there were one. Quote
