LGR4GM Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 (edited) Expected to happen today or tomorrow. He's a 5'11" or 5'10" 180ish lbs LHD Alexander Nilsson @aalexnilFollowFollow @aalexnil More Good news for #Sabres as they, according to sources, has signed Lawrence Pilut. Had most points by a defenseman this season in SHL: http://buffalonews.com/2018/04/27/reports-sabres-closing-in-on-deal-with-swedish-defenseman-pilut-jacob-josefson-returns-to-sweden/ Edited April 27, 2018 by LGR4GM
dudacek Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 (edited) No idea where this is coming from, but small 22-year-old Swedish D who put up a ton of points last year. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=170049 This spring’s Antipin. Hope he can do more than this winter’s Antipin Edited April 27, 2018 by dudacek
WildCard Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 What's the catch? Seems like there should be a catch here
LGR4GM Posted April 27, 2018 Author Report Posted April 27, 2018 What's the catch? Seems like there should be a catch here He's only 5'11" and 180lbs
woods-racer Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 No idea where this is coming from, but small 22-year-old Swedish D who put up a ###### ton of points last year. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=170049 This spring’s Antipin. Hope he can do more than this winter’s Antipin If he can communicate with the players and coaches he has a much better start than Antipin. And If he grows his hair out and kinda looks like our head coach he'll be playing no matter what.
TrueBlueGED Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 He's only 5'11" and 180lbs So you're saying he's probably not going to be able to throw a football in Buffalo weather?
LGR4GM Posted April 27, 2018 Author Report Posted April 27, 2018 So you're saying he's probably not going to be able to throw a football in Buffalo weather? Seems unlikely. He might be able to play hockey in Buffalo weather because Sweden has snow and Buffalo has snow. Pilut lead his steam in scoring. He also had the most points by an SHL defender, he's only 22. He received the Salming trophy for best native born Swedish defender.
TrueBlueGED Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 Seems unlikely. He might be able to play hockey in Buffalo weather because Sweden has snow and Buffalo has snow. And we sometimes get outdoor games! He'll be great in those!
GASabresIUFAN Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 I love the signing. Create more competition and one of these days we’ll find a Butcher or Zeitsev instead of an Antipin. He probably already speak English.
Brawndo Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 This is Steve Greeley in action. Nice signing
bob_sauve28 Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 He's only 5'11" and 180lbs He's an inch taller than Will Butcher
Taro T Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 No idea where this is coming from, but small 22-year-old Swedish D who put up a ###### ton of points last year.http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=170049 This spring’s Antipin. Hope he can do more than this winter’s Antipin Hope he's given more rope than this winter's Antipin. Seems to be a good signing. If the kid has problems adjusting to the NA game, nothing really lost. If he adjusts, may have added a top 4 guy for essentially nothing.
bob_sauve28 Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 What are they saying in that song? "I love the Sabres, boys"?
Brawndo Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 Per Vogl Signing cannot become official until after Lawrence Pilut finishes skating with the Swedish national team in preparation for the world championship next month.
North Buffalo Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 (edited) Wont have to change jersey colors... nice Edited April 27, 2018 by North Buffalo
GASabresIUFAN Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 By the time Jbot is done all we’ll have are Scandinavias and college kids.
That Aud Smell Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 He's an inch taller than Will Butcher Nicely turned. Smallish puck moving d-men are the new norm.
French Collection Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 As said earlier, more competition for jobs. He certainly seems to be aggressive on offense, similar to Antipin's highlight package from last year. Seems like such a non Swedish name though.

bob_sauve28 Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 He has an American parent. So did Winston Churchill!
