matter2003 Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 Think its safe to say from the last 3 "games"---if you want to call them that, the Sabres have packed it in for the year. 2 shutouts and going down 5-0 in the 3rd game is pretty uninspiring to say the least...so glad Eichel decided to come back and help out offensively Quote
Brawndo Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 From Harrington My quick math: In losing last four games, #Sabres have outshot their opponents 144-108. They've out-attempted them 261-202 (plus-59 Corsi for stat geeks). They've been outscored, 16-2. That's TWO goals on 144 shots (1.4 percent) and 261 attempts. Mind-boggling. Quote

Future proof that most advanced stats in hockey are useless. The Sabres as a team have no finish and or they are blasting away from Atlanta to ring up the shots totals Wowie wants. Terrible. Quote
Jacque Richard Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 Their not an accurate bunch of shooters. Quote

bunomatic Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 Lets not leave our goaltending out of this . There's enough blame to be shared by everyone in this organization. Quote
Sabel79 Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 Lets not leave our ###### goaltending out of this . There's enough blame to be shared by everyone in this organization. Quite. I read someone posting on Twitter, don't know if it's true and didn't watch the game, that the Rags scored on four consecutive shots last night. It's unfathomable. Quote

Pominville for one takes some weird shots. Quote
R_Dudley Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 I am not sure they ever unpacked it be able to say they are now packing it in. Not sure what’s wrong with this mess but something is totally whack. They played better and scored more w/o jack and our top player comes back and they get worse, that’s whack. Phil said something that caught my attention post game, about respecting our goalie more based off horrible defensive play and getting beat to the lanes. Some have suggested Robin is not liked by his team and I have to really wonder how many of these guys really like each other and truly care about “the team”. When I keep hearing all these coaches and players saying similar things around play for each other, respect the team, hold each other accountable, blah, blah, I have to assume this team epitomizes dysfunctional. This is hockey hell. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 I think the Sabres (players, management and the owner(s)) packed it in about 5 years ago. Quote

This is hockey hell. Good post, especially the bolded. Cracked me up. I was thinking yesterday about how you build a team when each player is his own small corporation. How do you possibly replicate the esprit de corps from their earlier days? Also, given the power the players have, what weapons does any coach have in his arsenal to whip them into shape? Crazy thought: hire a 20-something head coach. (Today I learned that the video guy for the Sabres who gives Phil information and/or instruction on challenging goaltender interference/offside graduated is in his mid 20s. At least he graduated from college in 2013 and in his picture he looks young. So there's that.) Edited March 25, 2018 by PASabreFan Quote

Its like when Jack is hurt all the other guys realize they need to step up and do more so they play harder and when Jack comes back instead of playing harder they use it as an excuse to be lazy and wait for Jack to do something...terrible mindset to have Edited March 25, 2018 by matter2003 Quote
