Right now, with 71-37-21 firing on all cylinders, you get a glimpse of why you want to build the roster good enough so that you can roll lines. Not to say that these lines are acceptable in that regard going forward - but this game everyone's on fire.

Casey and Kyle and EROD just whooped the hell out of Nashville's top D pairing for two shifts, and instead of getting a break, Nashville had to defend Eichel, and then ROR-Reinhart.

Just a taste of what fun hockey will be like again.

What we need up front is more snipers. Guys who can finish and put the puck in the net. Most of our young guys like Bailey, Baptiste, ERod, also Girgensens, and so forth, they have the speed and they can generate offense but then one of them shoots wide or easy for the goalie or makes a bad pass or just loses it along the boards but the pressure amounts to nothing. We need pure goal scorers.

(along with a goalie and a D :))

nope

with Girgensons being done for the season, has he played his last game in the NHL?

If he does return, he is no better than a 4th line / 13th forward to me.

fixed... and yes

I thought we needed more grit. Or identity, or puck moving d-men, or better goaltending, or secondary scoring. The Sabres just need better players, all acrost (:woot:) the lineup.

Fyi: Vanek is 6th in games played in the 2003 draft class. He is 4th in pts, 6th in assists and 3rd in goals

Perry: 954 games, 366g, 398a 764pts

Vanek 963 games, 357g, 395a 752pts

Perry has played his entire career with Ryan Getzlaf, who is Vanek’s center?

Nah, practically the whole board has told me that Vanek is lazy.  Your numbers must be off.

I’m a Vanek fan and despite this board’s distaste for bringing him back, I won’t be unhappy if Jbot signs him this summer.

Well ya, we do need everything. Absolutely true. Gets kind of depressing to think in those terms though.

Some guy named Roy(no sabre has scored more points than him in a decade, btw) and some other guy named Connolly(always produced when healthy)

Oh and Jochen Hecht!! Never forget Hecht, the center.

But yeah, Vanek was just so darn lazy when putting up all those points.
