Nice to see them shake off that stinker the next night and on the road.

11-9-2 since the Dallas debacle.

Two stinkers (Calgary and Washington, some would add Florida)

Five big wins against Tampa, Toronto and Boston.

61 for, 58 against.

Sam Reinhart, 22 points in those 22 games.

Also 6-6-1 without Jack.

This game was a perfect example of what I was saying about this team's struggles being a personnel issue, not a coaching issue. You need your best players to show up and play like they're your best players. Reinhart showed up. He dug deep and figured it out tonight and it turned the whole game around.

They can do it. They just have to take care of their individual games.

Guhle has been shakey, but did you see the way he joined the rush?

Kid such a good skater

He's gonna be incredible.

That said, whether we're good or bad, or Ottawa is good or bad, these are usually close, hard fought games, so I'm looking forward to this.

...and there ya go.  Called it.

I thought Reinhart and O'Reilly showed up against Calgary too, nobody else did.

I wouldn't say they played all that well tonight. They were outshoot out chanced and out played just about everywhere on the ice.

Risto is 5-17-22 in 30 games since the new year.

And for Pi, a -5.

Sure, he's a -14 on the year, but has a TRpm of +9 so he's actually playing pretty well.

Scandella is a +1 with a TRpm of +21... he's been outstanding.

Remember, on a bad team a TRpm of 0 or close to 0 is bad, it means you're contributing your fair share to the poor performance.   A positive TRpm on a bad team means that in general you're helping, not hurting... and a negative TRpm on a bad team means you're an anchor severely weighing the team down.

Larsson: -7

Okposo: -14

Beaulieu: -7

Pominville: 0

O'Reilly:  +10

Reinhart: +7

Kane: +3

Girgensons: +4

Eichel: +1

McDavid: +26

Matthews: +17

Just to give an idea of how far ahead Eichel was in points, he still leads the team with 53 pts in 55 games

O'Reilly just entered the 50 pts mark at 67 games.

Kane left the team with 40 pts

Reinhart and Okposo are at 38 which is a miracle seeing how bad their starts were.

Which is weird as he was billed just the opposite

I wouldn't say he was slow afoot but he was slow processing the play, he looked like a guy who didn't know the playbook.

I'm also hoping for the best in regards to K.Okposo....
