Sabel79
Figures I finally giev up with four minutes left and miss the one thing a Sabres player does correctly all night. Oh well. On to tonight we go...
Huckleberry
I'm so glad that I only watched ten minutes of that. I went through two periods of that :(

pi2000
I muscled through the entire game. What I don't get is how the entire team just no-show's, every single one, collectively... it's odd. Typically a few guys might take a night off, but for the ENTIRE team to look that disinterested is unusual. No push back from anybody at any point in the game. I hate to say it, but this is what you get when a team turns off the coach.
Taro T
I muscled through the entire game. What I don't get is how the entire team just no-show's, every single one, collectively... it's odd. I hate to say it, but this is what you get when a team turns off the coach. It also is what you get when an undermanned team knows that its goalie runs hot or cold but rarely if ever warm just got done watching that goalie give up a goal that a bantam goalie would have been embarrassed by. Johnson didn't show up. (And before PTR jumps in, not saying that the rest of the team DID show up. ;)) He usually looks shaky early, but if he gets the bounces out of the gate settles down & plays very/reasonably well. If he doesn't, well, like Dennis Hopper used to say "bad things, man, bad things." And yesterday's game is why I'm hoping the Sabres don't go w/ a tandem of Ullmark & Johnny. If Ullmark goes through a stretch or 2 of looking like a rookie, they need to have someone to go in who's floor isn't so low. Johnson's a capable backup. He's not a starter unfortunately. With Johnson giving up 2 bad goals early, the Sabres weren't able (for whatever reason) to overcome their too common sluggish start & looked broken in losing to a struggling team. But, if they get some saves/ breaks early tonight, they easily can beat another flawed team. They are a team that only rarely has the talent & fortitude to overcome an early deficit. COULD it be that they've tuned Housley out? It could be. But from this vantage point, it isn't that. They're playing 4 or so good games in a row & then throwing in a stinker like last night. Again, that seems to be a breakable, young, learning team rather than 1 that quit on the coach.
