Thorner Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 I would much prefer Reinhart handling it over KO on the PP. Quote
darksabre Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Our power play has looked pretty good in this game. Lots of quick short passes. Quote
DarthEbriate Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Little miscommunication by 23 and 93 but we clear the zone neatly anyway. Good. Quote
Sabel79 Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 I hope Lehner was watching Chad hold the post there... Quote
Thorner Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) I can't believe I'm saying this. Johnson has a certain swagger that Lehner doesn't have, eh? For a goalie having a poor season, he sure exuded a confidence as he scooped that one with his glove. Maybe the team responds to that. Edited March 6, 2018 by Thorny Quote
Taro T Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Not to mention that face off should have been in the Leafs zone as it had been played with a high stick. High stick on a PP means all the way down. These are not the top officials in the league, clearly. No. But they may be the biggest Loaf homers in the league. (Based strictly on their calling of THIS game.) Quote
DarthEbriate Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Toronto is well-coached plays their system well. And dare I say it, but we’re starting to play our system well, too? Right down to that Bealieu crash off the crossbar. Quote
LTS Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Johnson didn’t have that early in the season. Probably good to give Lehner less games right now so he can work on his game. It worked for Johnson. Quote

For a goalie having a poor season, he sure exuded a confidence as he scooped that one with his glove. They're mirror images of each other. Johnson is less talented but cooler under pressure. Lehner is a panic attack in human form out there, albeit more physically gifted. Quote

Johnson plays the game right, he's just not the most talented goalie. He's always been hot and cold. Right now he's in the zone. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Oh Beaulieu! Two cross bars in last couple games Quote
Randall Flagg Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) I would much prefer Reinhart handling it over KO on the PP. I was going to ask why Okposo was on the plug line, but then I saw that PP and remembered that he was the plug. Reinhart absolutely should be in Jack's spot in Jack's absence. Only guy on the team that can compete with ROR and Eichel in maintaining puck possession in tight spaces. He could even be better. You guys just see Scott Wilson there?? Held the puck and manipulated the space in front of him, when most players would have tried to pass early, then an AIMED dump that turned into a mini 3 on 1 down low. He's unskilled, but he's so smart. Do you just pick stuff like that up playing with coaches and players like Sullivan and Crosby/Malkin/Kessel etc? Edited March 6, 2018 by Randall Flagg Quote
DarthEbriate Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Risto has been engaged all game. Larsson also appears to be on tonight. I’d like to see the whole team play like this with Eichel on the ice. And Mittelstadt. Quote
Stoner Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 What a heave by Okposo with one hand on his stick. Quote

He’s a third liner but he was worth the 5th round pick. I hope he’s on the team next season. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Good teams' fourth lines can do THAT? *watches Nolan**cries* Quote
apuszczalowski Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Let's cream them. Going to be a hostile crowd down there tonight. Are the handful of Sabres fans who didn't sell their tickets to Leafs fans going to make some noise? Quote
Randall Flagg Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Guhle looking like a kid there. He's looked a little overwhelmed with the speed/tenacity of an NHL forecheck tonight. Quote
Taro T Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 Can they please not let Leo f###ing Komorov turn this game? Quote
DarthEbriate Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 And we’re back to even. But I am entertained by this and we’re playing even, so I am... accepting of their goal. Quote
