LTS Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Excellent. More hockey. Should be back from shopping for a new stick for my son in time to watch it. He broke his last night and then proceeded to carry it around like it was a badge of honor. I congratulated on him finally hitting a puck hard enough. I'm such a loving parent. :) Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 BIL ... +++++ A road game against a legit cup (you could say that they are on the cusp right now) contender. I smell a huge victory in the works. On the other hand, it could be the broccoli, potato and cheese thingie I had for lunch. The Sabres for the win!! GO SABRES!! Quote
Winston Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 BIL ... Brother in law! He lives down here in OH near us. Or rather, we live near him (he relocated here first). Quote
Gramps Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Maybe Housley can do a little team building on South Beach tomorrow ... 82° and sunny. Quote

North Buffalo Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Does he put the whistle in his pouch? I'll show myself out. Dont let the door hit you where the Lord split you... :)You must be a musician. Quote
CallawaySabres Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Holy Lord, no question this team is 3 years from playoffs Quote
Mustache of God Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 It's not out of the realm of possibility for a team to turn it around in the off-season and that's the hope I need to cling to (because why else would I be here?). Before the team gets better JBOTs needs to get rid of at least 3 or 4 of the following players Moulson, Pommenville, Bogo, Larsson & Girgensons, the first three b/c of their contracts and the Larsson and Girgs because they've been here long enough for the suckitude to seep in deep and are unsalvagable on this team. ubkev Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 That's a lovely accent you have. New Jersey? Austria. Quote
miles Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 umm. so i think its going to be a long night. lightning 6 sabres 1 Quote
Weave Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 How completely disheartening is it that an expansion team has a deeper roster than we do? I realize that the rules were tilted to make sure they had a good chance, but man, they grabbed a roster full of middle six guys, and we drafted top 2 twice AND spent nearly to the cap to get FA's and we are on very opposite ends of the season standings. WTF? Quote
etiennep99 Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Why do people keep on saying that it's too late for the Sabres to make a "hockey trade"? The trade "deadline" is not a HARD deadline. The teams can trade all they want. It's just that the playoff teams cannot add to their rosters. 31 teams. 16 make it to playoffs. 15 teams left to make "hockey trades". :wallbash: Quote
7+6=13 Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 I have the strangest feeling we're going to lose. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Huge ... played many games in the basement of Crosby Hall on the Main St campus. I use to play hockey at Clark Hall, but walked through Crosby all the time on the way to catch the bus over to Amherst campus. Quote
Stoner Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Not made to feel depressed before a game: priceless. Quote
dudacek Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 We beat the. Ruins. Why not the Lightning? (Typo too good to correct) Quote
Thorner Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 I don't want to jinx it or anything, and it's still early in a career, but doesn't Sam Reinhart seem like one of those guys, similar to Pominville, who just plays in basically every game? Honestly, it's refreshing. It's not even like he doesn't take big hits. He's just so, maybe deceptively, durable. On track for a 3rd straight full season. (79/82 both his first two seasons. I consider that "full".) Quote

Thorner Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 (edited) Interested to see if he can play in every game this year. Something to watch for. Just got hit in the face and didn't even adjust his helmet! --- Reinhart, Pominville, Scandella. The 3 to have played in every game. ROR at 62/63. I believe he missed for the birth of his child. Edited March 1, 2018 by Thorny Quote
Randall Flagg Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Anyone notice that the Reinhart/ROR pairing has handled the Stamkos and Bergeron lines incredibly well in the last 10 periods against them? Like, they're not just holding their own, they're controlling play? Quote
Stoner Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Just put an O at the end of O'Regan and get it over with, Rob. Rick chewing someone out: "You are testing me. Jesus! Put some toner in your printer!" LOL Baptiste flying back as the Bolts tried to break in shorthanded. Quote
Thorner Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 That's NHL defence on the back check there by Baptiste. Impressive. Quote
