woods-racer Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 None sound desperate. Not expecting much. Quote
LTS Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 Need three desperate teams to make the push for 2 players to get a good return. Are there 3 desperate teams? Desperation levels change as opponents sign assets. I think the Devils signing Grabner puts pressure on the Islanders to get a goalie and shore up their goals against issue or kiss the playoffs good bye. If the Isles make a move then Columbus feels the pressure. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Caps are all close and 4-5 points ahead of New Jersey... but is it enough? That's just the Eastern Conference. Taro T Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 First time in NHL history that the Rangers and Devils have made a trade with each other. Wow. Technically true, though the franchises had a MAJOR trade earlier in their history. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 Technically true, though the franchises had a MAJOR trade earlier in their history. That must have happened when the Devils were not even a glimmer in the eyes of NJ hockey fans, right? Quote
Taro T Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 That must have happened when the Devils were not even a glimmer in the eyes of NJ hockey fans, right? Yep. Wayne Gretzky was only a non-Calder eligible 1st year back when the trade went down. He probably didn't even consider the weaker club a Mickey Mouse organization yet. ;) Quote

Taro T Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 (edited) Ok what are we talking about here? Trade of a 2nd overall draft pick that was expected to be a franchise savior that actually helped carry that team to its 1st ever playoffs in his rookie year. Though he wasn't able to build on that team performance-wise he continued to play well & was expected to eventually be in the running as the best in the league at his position. He continued to play well for the new team but definitely did not live up to their expectations. Edited February 23, 2018 by Taro T Quote

Taro T Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 WHO? It's not going to be worth the buildup at this point. :p 'If you have to ask you'll never know. If you know, you need only ask.' :w00t: Quote
sabills Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 This Karlsson trade could get wacky. Travis Yost is saying OTT and TBL may be trying to involve 4 teams in a single trade (OTT,TBL, and two others), probably as a way to hide that Bobby Ryan contract. Quote
Taro T Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 I'm gonna kill you guys...OK, fine ... Persistent, ain't he. ;) Barry Beck. Told you it wouldn't be worth the buildup. :p Quote

Mustache of God Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 What is going on in Ottowa? How do you go from the ECF to blowing up your entire team, especially after going out and acquiring Duchene? Quote
darksabre Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 What is going on in Ottowa? How do you go from the ECF to blowing up your entire team, especially after going out and acquiring Duchene? By doing something like going out and acquiring Duchene. Quote

North Buffalo Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 Hmm so that depending on structure should be close what Sabres get for Kane. Quote
LTS Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 Brassard to Pittsburgh for a 1st, goalie Gustavsson and other cap related elements. Per Dreger Ian Cole is that cap related element. Quote
