Scottysabres Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Nice haul for the Rangers Quote
Ross Rhea Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 OFFICIAL: #NYR have acquired a first-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, defenseman Ryan Lindgren, forwards Ryan Spooner and Matt Beleskey, and a seventh-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft from the Bruins in exchange for Rick Nash. wow, rangers win that trade by a lot, imo Quote
French Collection Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Lindgren was on USA world junior team this year. Quote
Scottysabres Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Bob McKenzie reporting Spooner is available from the Rangers lol Quote
Huckleberry Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 (edited) Don't know anything about Lindgren, but the 1st will be in the late 20's, and those other two are JAG's. and Nash is well past his best by date. Interesting trade. Wouldn't call Spooner a JAG, kid has 25 points in 39 games. seeing this trade Kane should net a 1st and a prospect for sure. Rangers did take on the beleskey contract though. Robviously Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Bob McKenzie reporting Spooner is available from the Rangers lol Smart. If you're doing a rebuild, go all in. He's a guy a contending team would want to add. Quote
Crusader1969 Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Last night the Preds held Yakov Trenin out of their AHL affiliates line up. Rumours are that they are involved with Karlsson but maybe could be a big piece of a trade for Evander Kane? Quote
CallawaySabres Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 wow, rangers win that trade by a lot, imo If Boston wins the Cup, I don't think they will care Quote
Winston Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Massive overpayment by Boston. Spooner only has 3 fewer points than Nash this year. In 21 fewer games... They’ve been rolling, so i’m surprised they would shake up the chemistry of the second line. Especially at the cost of a first and a B prospect. And it’s not like Nash is money in the playoffs. I’d be estacic if I was a ranger fan. And I’m on the edge of my seat to see what this means for Kane. Quote

Swing for the fences JBot. Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Agreed. I think that's a huge overpayment by Boston. Yes, but they got rid of Belesky's bad deal also. Now if we can just figure out how to use the Kane deal to rid ourselves of Moulson or Bogo. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Smart. If you're doing a rebuild, go all in. He's a guy a contending team would want to add. Hell, I'd take Spooner here. Obviously we're not contending, but he'd help our depth scoring next year. Quote
Huckleberry Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 I'm not getting the trade anymore after reading the boston #1 center was walking in a boot after the game. Trading Spooner for Nash seems silly now. But Atleast they got rid of Beleskey. Quote
Brawndo Posted February 25, 2018 Author Report Posted February 25, 2018 The @MapleLeafs announced that the hockey club has acquired forwards Tomas Plekanec and Kyle Baun from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Rinat Valiev, Kerby Rychel and Toronto’s second round draft pick in 2018. Montreal retains 50% of Plekanec’s Salary Quote
Randall Flagg Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Spooner had one season that was eyebrow-raising but has been playing pretty bad since then. Quote
dudacek Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 I’m not a Spooner fan, but he’d be no worse than our fifth best offensive forward. Dude has 25 points in 38 games and 39 points in his “bad” season last year. Quote
Stoner Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 Good take. He's long in the tooth and Kane would have looked good in a Boston uni. Swing for the fences JBot. Boston would have loved Kane, too. Quote
Sabel79 Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 All sorts of guys on waivers today. Notably Chris Stewart and Johnny Oduya. I’d temper any expectations of Gorges brining anything back... Quote
