Slightly less movement pre-deadline day, but deadline day usually doesn't get going strong until the afternoon. Plus at least a few deals will be reported after 3PM.

 

It's July 1 that goes crazy from the opening bell.

I went and looked at the last 2 years

2016-17 - 19 deadline day deals and another 16 deals in the week leading up.

2015-16 - 20 deadline day deals and another 19 deals in the week leading up.

 

This year

16 deals in the week lading up to today. So far 3 deals so far with two huge deals. Stastny is a real surprise.

here in Canada sportsnet and tsn start the deadline shows early but not much happens til at least 12-1, then things really ramp up

Foley is also a very strong prospect. It’s an overpayment, but I guess it’s worth it if the Jets win the cup. The way all the analysts are talking, that’s a surefire lock apparently.
