I think you're both right.  I think the PA fought for it and now the players don't love it.

I believe I read that the complaints last year was the breaks were too spread out and it gave teams an unfair advantage coming off the bye, not being in the zone. This year they condensed all the breaks into a 3 week span to even that out a bit. As a player, I'd love a 5 day break in the middle of winter to go hang out in the sun and rest up a bit...but I'm not an NHL player, just a beer-leaguer.

I never thought I would lose interest in hockey, this team has done it to me. I don't watch them, I don't watch other teams, I don't check standings...nothing. I'll probably watch the East playoffs if there are teams I dislike enough but wow, not even the Bills turned me off of football during the darkest of times.

I'm serious. There have been a lot of complaints about it

I would like to propose eliminating the forced break and replacing it with non-guaranteed player contracts again.

It's the only thing that is going to save this league, at least in the regular season.  Product has never been worse.

When I read this I looked back to the day Pegula had his press conference after purchasing the franchise. What a contrast of the happiness and excitement that day to now when fans express feelings of total lack of interest and dismay. It's something I would not have predicted.

So true. He had me at Perreault. I was all in. But even that same day, I started seeing bad signs. Heck, even during that presser, his line about "Lindy ain't goin' nowhere" bugged me. He stepped on Regier there, big time. When he said he didn't know the Sabres were for sale in 2002 and blamed the News for the team's mental state, I figured there was something off about the guy. My opinion has not wavered. It was a roller coaster day.
