TrueBlueGED Posted January 10, 2018 Report Posted January 10, 2018 I'm excited to see him in the skills competition. Quote
ubkev Posted January 10, 2018 Report Posted January 10, 2018 I'm excited to see him in the skills competition. Anxious is the word I'd use. Hopefully he's better in the "real" one than in the 2 kindergarten ones that the sabres have done. Quote
Weave Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Burning question of the day, does he get this honor if every team didn't have to be represented? Quote
darksabre Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Looking forward to Jack not scoring in the shootout competition. Quote

Scottysabres Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Where's my Eastern Conference Penant Flag? Need to be prepared to cheer on our golden child. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Burning question of the day, does he get this honor if every team didn't have to be represented? It would be close. He's 8th in the division in scoring, and I think pointz rules the day with this thing. They take 6 forwards. When they break free of "pointz" the next criteria seems to be name recognition, it seems like every year there are guys that are only in because of that (Crosby 2 years ago), which Eichel has in spades over Vincent Trocheck and Mark Stone, deserved or not. I think he'd squeak in the last forward spot. Quote
miles Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 eichel does not deserve to be an all star. he spent half of the season to now just slopping around and not trying. he only recently turned it up. meh Quote
7+6=13 Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Depressing that some are now turning on our young star on pace for 73 points. Quote
Derrico Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Depressing that some are now turning on our young star on pace for 73 points. Actually the pace is 74 points which no sabre has done for ten straight seasons. Quote

Sabel79 Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Annual reminder that the all-star game is dumb and meant for children and/or liquored up executives of sponsor corporations. Quote
darksabre Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 I like the skills comp, and the 3v3 tournament format is much more fun. But the NHL will always try to find ways to ruin a good thing. Quote

miles Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Depressingly Buffalo fan like. Take a look at the old eichel thread. many people was asking what is wrong with him, or he needs to shoot more, he is not working hard. or he had a poor attitude, breaking sticks, etc. it was only in the early of december when he got the hat trick that he really started to play well. before that he was average at best Quote
LGR4GM Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Take a look at the old eichel thread. many people was asking what is wrong with him, or he needs to shoot more, he is not working hard. or he had a poor attitude, breaking sticks, etc. it was only in the early of december when he got the hat trick that he really started to play well. before that he was average at best Average Jack Eichel is still better than 90% of the league. People were down on Jack because we wanted to see him eclipse last years totals. Considering that the pp is dead and Jack is getting almost all his points at even strength, just imagine when the pp comes back. Quote
LGR4GM Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) Jack Eichel 2016/17: 14 EV Goals, 10 PP goals / 19 EV Assists, 14 PP Assists (61 games) 2017/18: 16 EV Goals, 1 PP goals / 15 EV Assists, 5 PP Assists, 2 SH assists (43 games) so in 18 less games, Eichel has all but equaled his previous season total amount of even strength scoring. I would say he has improved and if the powerplay was the pile of hot garbage it is, jack would easily be outperforming last year. Edited January 11, 2018 by SkuggaLiger Quote
