erickompositör72 Posted January 15, 2018 Author Report Posted January 15, 2018 So wait, you've been saying Reinhart was going to be a washout since 18 months ago? When he was coming off a 42-point Rookie season, where he finished 16th voting for the Lady Bing and 9th for the Calder trophy? I don't doubt you did, but it sounds a lot like bias if you were still down on the guy after a great season. I don't think it's bias- I think he always looked soft and never looked like he could take control of the play. He scored points by playing with other good players, and there was always the possibility that he wouldn't be able to drive a line himself (I, personally, would have bet on that). Now that these things appear to be true, it wouldn't have been a bad idea even a year ago to get the most we could for him. From what I've heard, Botterill was trying to get rid of him at the beginning of the season. Wisely, it seems any interested teams wanted to take a closer look at him this season before making a move, and it's good for them that they did. I don't think he's impressing many at this point. Formerly Allan in MD Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 Thank you sir. Who cares about Housley's wardrobe? Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 The Sabres may be the worst passing team in the league. Reinhart’s best skill is passing. The Sabres are asking Reinhart to work the corners and go to the net....? Think of this season as an 82-game development camp. Reino is a big enough body that he should be able to work the corners.* He's learning how to work the corners. Next year when passing and scoring will actually be needed, well, they know he has those skills. *And oh by the way, learning how to handle the rough stuff in the corners will better enable him to handle the rough stuff in front of the net when he's trying to score.
