darksabre Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 So should I be excited or not? Too soon to tell. Quote
LTS Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 Well, everyone wants "something" to happen and so "something" is happening... I mean, I have to admit that the thread title got me a bit excited even if it's nothing much in the end. It's SOMETHING... :) Quote

Taro T Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 So, if Ullmark & Guhle were brought up, who was sent down/ to IR? They already had 23 healthy bodies heading into last afternoon's game as IIRC Nolan, Falk, & Antipin were scratched. (3 were definitely scratched, pretty sure those were the 3.) Quote

miles Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 It seems likely that Lehner is going on IR. i hope ullmark is not just a plug. i saw that and was hoping it was a perm call up Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 i hope ullmark is not just a plug. i saw that and was hoping it was a perm call up He's probably just a plug. Quote
MattPie Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 He's probably just a plug. Even he plays lights out, he'll go back down when Lehner is off IR. Having a good Amerks team is probably more important for development than him getting NHL games in at this point. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 Preczactly. I want him up on the Sabres, but not during a tire fire season. Quote
BuffaloBorn Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 I believe/think that Ullmark has the potential to be a very good NHL goalie Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 No call ups this season will be permenant. Jbot wants Roch to win and go deep in the playoffs. You can’t do that with Guhle and Ullmark in Buffalo. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 I believe/think that Ullmark has the potential to be a very good NHL goalie which is why he's just plugging a gap while Lehner is out. Quote
Stoner Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 I heard it was just a maintenance day for Lehner. Quote
LGR4GM Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 Antipin has the flu... whether that's the actual flu or not who knows. Quote
Marvelo Posted January 8, 2018 Report Posted January 8, 2018 They should replace the whole damn team. I bet Roch would beat Buf in a 7 game series. Quote
Stoner Posted January 9, 2018 Report Posted January 9, 2018 Antipin has the flu... whether that's the actual flu or not who knows. Thanks. I wonder about these things too. Quote
3putt Posted January 9, 2018 Report Posted January 9, 2018 Ullmark is clearly just an injury call-up. Guhle is a little more interesting. Although maybe we'll just find out someone else got hurt. It would be weird to carry so many defenders otherwise. or that Antipin died of plague in Phil’s basement Quote
MattPie Posted January 9, 2018 Report Posted January 9, 2018 They should replace the whole damn team. I bet Roch would beat Buf in a 7 game series. If that were the case, every time the Sabres call someone up, that player should suddenly be nearly the best guy on the ice, no? The gap between the AHL and NHL is big. Matt Moulson had zero points in 14 games this year in Buffalo, and has 18 points in 13 games in Ontario. Quote
Stoner Posted January 9, 2018 Report Posted January 9, 2018 or that Antipin died of plague in Phil’s basement So Phil is Buffalo Bill? Quote
Formerly Allan in MD Posted January 9, 2018 Report Posted January 9, 2018 We have nothing to lose by playing Ullmark. You'll never know what he's ready to do unless you play him. It's not like we're in the fight, are ultra solid in the net, and are risk adverse. Quote

Ya, Guhle and Ullmark make 25, so I guess if they both stay till gametime, 2 players go to IR. Lehner and Antipin I guess. Quote

It's not like we're in the fight, are ultra solid in the net, and are risk adverse. I think we do. The team is in such bad shape its litterly sad to watch, putting Ullmark in net with this piece of garbage team doesnt feel fair at all, but then again this is NHL, hockey at its best. Im happy for Ullmark getting the shot, but its not for the right reason. Quote

I'm fine with giving Ullmark a game or two... he wants it and deserves it. Quote
