TrueBlueGED Posted December 24, 2017 Report Posted December 24, 2017 Would you trade Okposo if Evander agreed to an extension? I'd trade Okposo regardless of what happens with Kane. I want that goddamn contract gone. Quote
LGR4GM Posted December 24, 2017 Author Report Posted December 24, 2017 Id trade Okposo and sign Kane Quote
Thorner Posted December 24, 2017 Report Posted December 24, 2017 Id trade Okposo and sign Kane This is my ideal scenario as well, I just can't see it happening. Quote
LGR4GM Posted December 24, 2017 Author Report Posted December 24, 2017 This is my ideal scenario as well, I just can't see it happening. It can happen. Botterill needs the balls to do it. Sign Kane to a 7 year deal, dump Okposo money easily works. Okposo, 2nd and a prospect plus a 1 year cap dump to make it work. Quote
Thorner Posted December 24, 2017 Report Posted December 24, 2017 I'm just not sure which teams would be interested in Okposo, with his massive contract, especially considering his production this season. Quote

WildCard Posted December 24, 2017 Report Posted December 24, 2017 Edmonton. They need a veteran winger. And Chiarelli does love old, bad contracts Quote
nfreeman Posted December 25, 2017 Report Posted December 25, 2017 i too would rather keep Kane than KO, but no one is going to take that contract. Quote

Rasmus_ Posted December 26, 2017 Report Posted December 26, 2017 Would you trade Okposo if Evander agreed to an extension? This would be the obvious dream scenario. However, Okposo's value is so limited at the moment. Unless someone wants him on the cheap. Quote
Robviously Posted December 26, 2017 Report Posted December 26, 2017 Trading Bogosian would free up money to pay Kane the next couple years too. And if we still need to love Okposo, it'll be a lot easiet two summers from now when he just has 2 years left. Unloading one bad contract makes keeping Kane so much more palatable. It might be the only way to make it possible. Quote

I think however the return for Kane will be too much for Bots to turn down. Edited December 26, 2017 by LGR4GM Quote

I bet there are GMs out there who feel the same way some of us do about Kane: He's good, but also bad. Quote

We've been through the other part. He's an above average scorer who is brutal for team possession stats. You take some very good with some very bad with Kane. Quote

You take some very good with some very bad with Kane. What exactly are you talking about?? What numbers show he's bad??? His Corsi/F% stats are one of the best on the team. Of the 30 players who've played this year only 10 have a plus %. In fact he's top 5 in just about every offensive stat there is on this team including goal scorer and point producer. Quote

I don't have time for this. Go find one of the dozens of posts about how Kane kills possession for any like he's on. Quote
