Brawndo Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 Per Sabres Alex Nylander assigned to Team Sweden for 2018 IIHF WJC in Buffalo Quote
WildCard Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 I wanna say this is a good thing? Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 This is the right move. Looking forward to watching him. Quote
Ogre Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 I think it will be good for him. He needs confidence. He was not good tonight. A saw a chance to get a loose puck and break into the zone but he just coasted towards the puck and let the Sen have it, taking a poke at it. He needs to be aggressive but he’s not even close to that. Quote
darksabre Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 I'm going to say that I don't know if this will be good for him. I think I'd almost prefer he keep grinding things out in the A. Quote
Rasmus_ Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 Good, the tournament got some more match up intrigue. Quote

Either it builds his confidence or it makes that 8th overall pick the defining GMT Murray moment. (Which it might be anyway.) Quote

It depends how Sweden does in the tourney though, but if Sweden does well it will most likely help with his confidence since he will be playing top line. Quote
Huckleberry Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 I think its a good move, he'll come back up to game speed. Quote
French Collection Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 He's been there and done that, but I think his confidence needs a boost. Maybe Dahlin's magic rubs off on him. Quote

At some point that definition of insanity kicks in and expecting something different to happen from the same set of inputs isn't the way to go. He's showing nothing so far as a pro so might as well see if he can get back to what made him a Top 10 draft pick and then take that back to the A again. Quote
North Buffalo Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 Nylander needs a kick in the back side bigger disappointment then Sam who is at least working on his craft. Not saying either gets there... but jeez. After watching Nashville and considering Sabres D... gotta think they go for top end D in draft. Quote
LTS Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 It can't be a bad thing for him right? Sometimes a brief change is all you need. It's also an indication of just how young he is... he can still play in the WJC Quote

It's also an indication of just how young he is... he can still play in the WJC Let's see what he can do. It's the age of competition that most guys his age are playing against. If he'd spent the last 2 years tearing it up in the CHL, no one would have any concerns about him. Quote
dudacek Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 I like it as a potential to boost his confidence. Kid seems a little too tightly wound. Quote

WildCard Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 @ByMHarrington Housley on Nylander going to WJC: "You can get a good boost of confidence if your country does well and that's what we're looking for from him, to continue to develop his game." #Sabres Quote
Thorner Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 I like it as a potential to boost his confidence. Kid seems a little too tightly wound. Yup. Confidence is reasons 1, 2, and 3 Botterill sent him, I'd bet. Quote
inkman Posted December 22, 2017 Report Posted December 22, 2017 That describes me to a T!Perhaps but I'll tell you what it isn't, doin the Same thing over and over blah blah blah.
