WildCard Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 You want more topics?? Well, here's a depressing one for you @MatthewFairburn #NHLBruins coach Bruce Cassidy on the third period against the #Sabres tonight: "In the third, on the road in a back-to-back, usually a team is going to have a push. I don’t want to be disrespectful, but I don’t know if they had a true sustained push." Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 Is he not correct? What is the big deal with him saying it? Quote
WildCard Posted December 20, 2017 Author Report Posted December 20, 2017 Is he not correct? What is the big deal with him saying it? Nothing? It's just interesting to hear another HC tell us our team basically sucks Quote

WildCard Posted December 20, 2017 Author Report Posted December 20, 2017 Gotcha. Like we really need him to tell us that. I mean think about that. How often, in any sport, does the opponent's HC sound surprised at how bad the other team actually is? Quote

French Collection Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 This is stuff that Phil needs to post on the board, or on their stalls. Maybe the next meeting will have some fireworks. Quote
bcsaberks Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 This is stuff that Phil needs to post on the board, or on their stalls. Maybe the next meeting will have some fireworks. Or in his office. Coach to coach disrespect. Man I hate Boston sports. Quote

That Aud Smell Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 No push. That really does capture this squad. Quote

Weave Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 When you clean the slate, you clean it of all its leadership as well. This boat ain’t righting itself for several seasons. Quote

Weave Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 What leadership did we lose in the tank? We haven't had leadership since Teppo and Drury They were so busy trying to lose that they didn’t bother to acquire the leadership that needed to be in place and active when our precious children arrived. WildCard Posted December 20, 2017 Author Report Posted December 20, 2017 They were so busy trying to lose that they didn’t bother to acquire the leadership that needed to be in place and active when our precious children arrived. They did too try and acquire leadership, they just failed at it. It was one of the massive differences people believed our tank would work when Edmonton's failed. Turns out we also just drafted like Edmonton as well Quote

I still say that they should have signed Gionta to a two year contract this past summer. Granted he didn't have much left, but in terms of veteran leadership he was all the Sabres had. That was not replaced. Pominville was not that guy. Quote

I don't think Pominville or Gionta are that guy honestly. You need more of a Joe Thornton Quote
PalmTreeMafia Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 They were so busy trying to lose that they didn’t bother to acquire the leadership that needed to be in place and active when our precious children arrived. Gionta, Gorges, Moulson, and Legwand were supposed to provide that leadership. Oops. O'Reilly I think pisses me off the most. He should have seized the "C" in the locker room before this season even began. What an overpaid, underperforming, platitude-spewing headcase this clown turned out to be. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 When you clean the slate, you clean it of all its leadership as well. This boat ain’t righting itself for several seasons. What vaunted leaders did the Leafs hang onto to teach their kids the way? JVR? Kadri? Bozak? Leadership is overrated. Quote

O'Reilly is a massive disappointment this season. He looks completely out of shape, he's slow, lagging behind the play most nights. His first couple seasons here he was a determined puck hound, creating chance after chance off the forecheck.. now he looks gassed after 15 seconds, shoulder slumped over, head down trying to catch up to the play from behind like he has sandbags strapped to his legs. dudacek Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 O’Reilly is the guy whose trade has the potential to improve this team the most. Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 Still think that's Kane How would removing the best player on the team for, most likely, picks and / or prospects improve the team the most? Quote
