Granted I haven't watch as close this season (thank you sabres) but, I've never seen anything good from his play (eye test only) being a good skater means nothing if your passing, shot, and defense skills all suck

Works hard, gets the puck out, gets to a lot of loose pucks and makes good decisions with puck, has a good shot and as you said, skates well

After accepting that we need an overhaul of like half the roster, it's easier to watch the games. Only because I think Botterill know this too.
