Can confirm at this point #Pens not frontrunners or even in sweepstakes for #Sabres  F #EvanderKane. Had some talks before, but #Pens not interested at this point.

Good. Can't really see the Sabres & Pens being able to work out a Kane deal that makes sense for both teams. (Which means, in all likelihood, the Sabres would get shafted in a consummated deal.)

Would you take two good prospects and a conditional pick for Kane instead of a 1st and a prospect? I’m thinking a near ready D prospect and another D or LW needing another year or two.

If it's the Blues, please let it be for Kyrou. Not sure if the Blues would give up their prized prospect for a potential rental player. Though Kane and the Blues could be a nice long term match

Dealing Kyrou could happen if the Blues are comfortable with Tarasenko, Kostin, Tage Thompson as their Long term right wingers.

They also have Robert Thomas in their prospect pool and he could be NHL ready next year as well.

It’s doesn’t appear that Doug Armstrong is interested in rentals, yet.

From Garrioch

Hoffman’s name has been linked mostly to the Blues in trade speculation, but they aren’t the only NHL team in pursuit of a forward, with the Carolina Hurricanes, Edmonton Oilers, San Jose Sharks and Buffalo Sabres also sniffing around.

Win two in a row, now we're buyers.

Meh jack desperately needs a shooter that knows how to get to open areas around the net. The closest thing we have right now is 29 and he isn't any sort of long term solution. I haven't watched enough of Hoffman to know if he is that guy but after watching 21 & 28 having no clue where to be to compliment Jack, I know they aren't the guy.

DUDE!!!! spoilers. we not even up to that point yet.  :flirt:

LOL

Maybe I should stop watching now and binge watch the season over the summer!

Hoffman is flawed, but his skating is outstanding and his 1-timer is unstoppable. Eichel loves coming in on the left boards and passing back to center.

Also, Okie is doing well in his spot on the PP, but imagine an elite left-handed shot over there. You wanna shade Eichel? Fine. Risto, tee up the guy with one of the quickest releases on one of the most accurate shots in the game.

Would love Hoffman, my worry would be the cost to acquire him at age 28 for essentially two seasons.

Someday maybe we will actually sign our pending FA's instead of trading them for lottery tickets.  what a novel idea.

That's a great idea, but again what is the cost to acquire Hoffman?

This team dug itself into a deeper hole because GMTM attempted to accelerate the rebuild by trading too many draft picks with little positive results to show for it

Also in three seasons Casey and possibly their 2018 1st will need extensions.

If I'm Botterill I need to replenish the pipeline and see how the team looks next year before making any deals like this.

Other than Drury and Briere (over 10 years ago) who is the pending FA that you wish we'd have re-signed instead of trading away?
