darksabre Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 not for 7 years. I know his injury history. He won't be productive in 6 years. He might not be in 4 or 5. Injury history?
darksabre Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 Kane breaks himself *looks at Kane's season records* I don't see anything egregious. He's not an ironman but I don't see anything that could label him as oft-injured like Bogosian always is.
LGR4GM Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 Ooh was that sarcasm? Kinda like, "Germans?" "Forget it he's rolling"
darksabre Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 Ooh was that sarcasm? Kinda like, "Germans?" "Forget it he's rolling" Huh?

Last time he played more than 70 games was 2012

darksabre Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 Kane misses 12 games every year without fail almost. Last time he played more than 70 games was 2012 That doesn't concern me much. If he can stay above 60 per year then he's fine. Guys get hurt.
LGR4GM Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 He average 63 games a yearDid you count the lockout season in that? That doesn't concern me much. If he can stay above 60 per year then he's fine. Guys get hurt.I view it different
darksabre Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 He average 63 games a year Are you accounting for the lockout shortened season where he played every game? 14-15 is really the only season where he was out long-term with injury. Did you count the lockout season in that? I view it different That's fine, but I think injury history is at the very bottom of my list of reasons for not taking Kane on long-term.

darksabre Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 63 games without the lockout year 66, 73, 74, 63, 37, 56, 70 I wonder if you can set up a contract where he gets a bonus if he plays over a certain number of games?
WildCard Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 I wonder if you can set up a contract where he gets a bonus if he plays over a certain number of games? That's pretty common in contracts actually. Gronk has the same thing in his for the Pats. Not sure what it really does for you as a team though. You're still stuck with the player and his cap hit either way
GASabresIUFAN Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 (edited) Animal House reference. He means your comment about Kane not being an oft injured player is way off the mark, like the Germans bombing Pearl Harbor comment in Animal House. Kane usually misses about 20% of his team’s games per season. The is the definition of oft injured. Edited December 14, 2017 by Georgia Flakt

LGR4GM Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 What's your point? Lots of players are oft injured if that's your metric. yea, and you don't pay those players top dollar for 7 years.
darksabre Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 yea, and you don't pay those players top dollar for 7 years. Is anyone saying Kane should get that?
LGR4GM Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 Is anyone saying Kane should get that? Yes. People have been talking about giving Kane a 7 year deal above 7 million or at least that is what he will ask for.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 Imagine what his stats would look like if he played a whole season. I would give Kane 7 at 7 million.

I'm with you unless Botts does hit a HR with a trade. As for his injury history, the last 2 with Buffalo were freak injuries into the boards, it's my opinion he appears to have cut back on his recklessness and has matured as a player this year.
LTS Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 Who cares about those guys? Their mothers?
apuszczalowski Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 The big date, if I recall correctly, is Dec. 19. That's the roster freeze date. After that everyone has to stand down until Dec 26? I wouldn't think that Botterill cares if he trades away a player before the Winter Classic. At the moment that move appears to have made some impact on the team as well. I wonder if the league cares and doesn't want Buffalo to start a fire sale until after the winter classic. I would imagine the ratings would plummet if it's the Rangers vs the Sabres nobodies. Atleast now they can use la e and Eichel to promote the game from the Sabres side....

So, Mr. Bettman. I need to trade this guy and you want me to wait. That's fine. You just have to make sure we win the draft lottery this year. :)
Cityo'Rasmii Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 "But Mr. LTS, we have always favored (2) very special and announted teams from up North, Edmonton and Toronto. Haven't you noticed?"
pi2000 Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 My source tells me Kane isn't going anywhere. BUF is just putting his name out there hoping somebody gives them an offer they can't refuse... which won't happen.
