josie Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 This can't just be the The Russian 5, the Grind Line, Yzerman, Datsyuk and Zetterberg, Holmstrom the Immovable Object, the Perfect Human... Plus the annual "I'm a savvy vet coming to Detroit to contend for a Cup"... Yeah --- after 25 years, they're not allowed to keep that going forever. And Sabres-version of Kozlov notwithstanding, I loved watching the Five. Some say the ghost of Holmstrom's a$$ is still there in the visiting team's crease... I think the days of league wide respected cupless players coming to Detroit for a final harrah are safely over now that Babcock's shuffled across the lake... Yzerman's kicking tail down in Tampa. Sigh. Quote
dudacek Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 My feelings towards Disco Dan have not changed one ounce. We downgraded by a sizable amount. We made it worse. Of course we did. Left alone with big Phil Fanny, he was such a naughty nanny... Quote
Stoner Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Not to mention that a strong argument could have been made for pulling him with just under 3 to go when he had the chance. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 I just threw up my goggles The beer goggles talk, which I've only been following out of the corner of my eye, has been the most entertaining thing about tonight. We've won 3 of our last 11 Friday games. Quote
josie Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Left alone with big Phil Fanny, he was such a naughty nanny... oh, he won't take me home tonight (please) nope, not beside any big red goal lights... Quote
Randall Flagg Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 I know. See my post above. Is it incompetence? What could possibly drive him to decide that, as soon as ROR had the puck in the o-zone? Quote

dudacek Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Ja-aa-ack, are you going to score a goal tonight? Why-yyyy-yyy can’t you light that sweet red light? Ohh-ohh-ohh don’t make us blame it all on Kane. Oh Jackie boy will you ever score again? Quote
SwampD Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 I really believe that our decimated D corp is really at the heart of our woes. They just look scared in the O zone and allow easy exits. Quote
Stoner Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 And yes. I would bench Eichel for tomorrow night. I'm done with him until he decides to play for this team. Maybe the honeymoon isn't quite over, but Jack's not far from getting roasted by the fans. And if he's playing anything like this one year from now he'll be one of the most hated players in team history. It's not picking her up. I just looked up the meaning of the commercial because I was sick of not understanding it. It's a really stupid commercial but I understand what is happening now. Say what? The dude doesn't drive over to the woman's house? Then she is driving? There's no right answer so I'm not going to google it. (The hell I'm not.) Quote
LTS Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 We had the puck in their zone with more than 50 seconds left I think it's fair to say the puck went in their zone. I wouldn't say we had it all that much. Quote
Stoner Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Is it incompetence? What could possibly drive him to decide that, as soon as ROR had the puck in the o-zone? Phil's very old school. Coaches quit like that all the time in the old days. I think it's fair to say the puck went in their zone. I wouldn't say we had it all that much. What are you waiting for, an embossed invitation? There's nothing to lose in that situation. The puck goes in, Lehner comes to the bench. Quote

Thorner Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 And yes. I would bench Eichel for tomorrow night. I'm done with him until he decides to play for this team. You, fine sir, are truly the canary in the coal mine. Maybe the honeymoon isn't quite over, but Jack's not far from getting roasted by the fans. And if he's playing anything like this one year from now he'll be one of the most hated players in team history. Say what? The dude doesn't drive over to the woman's house? Then she is driving? There's no right answer so I'm not going to google it. (The hell I'm not.) They were lambasting him with clips after the game on Sportsnet in Canada, complete with clips from today that proved their point. They brought up the 10 million in almost indignation. The Sabres are being laughed at. I'm not sure what we did to deserve all of this, as fans. Quote

Randall Flagg Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 At least tomorrow's game 20. We'll finally get to see what Liger thinks about the team. Quote

pastajoe Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Nolan was a bad pickup. He contributes nothing and takes bad penalties. At least DLo would make hard clean checks to make the opposing D cough the puck up. Quote

Stoner Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Marty talking about Phil not pulling the goalie. Sending a message to the team? I'll say. Quote
Tondas Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Marty still saying Sabres are implementing their system. The Sabres system is taking longer to implement than NORAD. Quote

At least DLo would make hard clean checks to make the opposing D cough the puck up. Nolan is horrific, but Deslauriers was the worst skater in the entire league last year and contributed to his team giving up Arizona's only regulation victory this season in his lone appearance Let us not let time dull our memories Marty talking about Phil not pulling the goalie. Sending a message to the team? I'll say. That they're not good enough to score two to tie it? Like they did less than a month ago? Quote
Jacque Richard Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 A major step back this year, never expected they would be this bad Quote
