Plus, is there a single person on Earth who can't see that Sam-Jack-Kane is miles better than Pominville-Jack-Kane? He makes good players better it seems, even if he can't elevate the play of bad ones. I'm seriously tempted to go rewatch games and clock offensive zone time and completed passes at even strength for the two lines to see how big the discrepancy is. My eye test says it's enormous.

 

So true. He may not have the raw athleticism to carry a line, but he thinks the game so well that he understands how and when to get the puck to the guys with the elite skill, who can finish the job. Skill players could find him a very agreeable player to play with as he'll so often be where they need him to be.
