$4.25M/yr for six years? So the expectation was a legit 2C who could fill in as 1C. Put up 50-60 points. If that had been Hodgson's production, we'd still have been a last-place team and been headed down the path of full rebuild (whether new GM and "his or her people" or the Regier-initiated suffering tank). Hodgson was not the problem.

 

Now, as we're speaking alternate realities: back in full-on tank days when it was better to listen to the radio and play EA hockey than to watch the game itself... I happened to play every game a certain season and Cody Hodgson put up 36-69-105 as the 2nd line center in 2015-16. He only skated in 73 games. His linemates were Girgensons and Armia.
