Stoner Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Welp, that didn't take long. Two games in. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 A really good reason to keep Nolan in the line up Quote
shotgunner Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Hard to argue with Okposo there. Last game looked no different than last year. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 (edited) Hard to argue with Okposo there. Last game looked no different than last year. It looked worse. The PP sucked as well. We may regret not keeping the coach who ran the PP. Edited October 9, 2017 by GASabresFan Quote
bunomatic Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Someone tell these guys the season has started. Quote
shotgunner Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 It looked worse. The PP sucked as well. We may regret not keeping the coach who ran the PP. Fair point. It was just so disorganized and chaotic. Also, I have always thought Eichel carrying/holding the puck was a big part of his success. He has excellent handling skills, speed, and passing, but I have seen him do very little of that this (admittedly small sample size) season. Hopefully it gets better. Starting today. Quote
SwampD Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Here's my post from a preseason game. https://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/25229-gdt-nyi-buffalo-9292017-msg-7pm/?p=980523 Same,… and I'm okay with it. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Fair for Okposo to say. He looked like a beast out there and very little of the space he created was used by his linemates. Quote

Weave Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Where did the thread title come from? Was there a presser or interview where this was expressed? Who was it directed towards? Quote

WildCard Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 I want to see him with Eichel. That's what I wanted when he first came here. I think now Pominville is a better RW for Jack though Quote
darksabre Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 That's what I wanted when he first came here. I think now Pominville is a better RW for Jack though I would be fine with one of them playing their off wing. I just think Okposo is a smart player and that he belongs with Jack. Quote
Pokey Jones Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 That's what I wanted when he first came here. I think now Pominville is a better RW for Jack though This is true, but when the old guy is your best shot you have to realize your team is in deep deep trouble. Pominville now shouldn't be better than 3rd line and maybe some 2nd unit PP time, asking more than that means your team sucks bad. Quote

The team was frankensteined together by two first-time GMs. And with Pegula running things, it's checkmate. Quote

qwksndmonster Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 Formal request to change the title to read "Okoposo." This got lost in the fray today because the game was so awful. I think Okoposo is amazing. What an unbelievable up. Quote

LGR4GM Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 They don't win 1v1 battles. It is as simple as that. They go in stick first and lose, constantly. We've seen it for at least 2 years. Quote

Stoner Posted October 10, 2017 Author Report Posted October 10, 2017 Formal request to change the title to read "Okoposo." The weird thing is he wasn't wearing it during the first period and I don't think during the second. Maybe Kylie do spit-up on bib during second intermission and mommy had to put his backup on? Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 Yup. I actually did take a look at the highlights, so many times the team just goes in stick first, along the boards, in open ice. Okoposo is right, no battle. The puck or the man, pick one. When they go in stick first you see the opposing player just tap it past their stick and use their own forward momentum to continue on at full speed. The Sabres player is not flat footed in pursuit. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. The weird thing is he wasn't wearing it during the first period and I don't think during the second.
