Sabel79 Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 Writing was probably on the wall when Yahoo laid off everyone save Him and Lambert. It was a good run. Hopefully he keeps his podcast w/ Jeff Marek going. I could listen to Marek talk about hockey forever. Quote

From little nerdy nuggets of hockey knowledge to more old/cancelled Canadian TV shows than I ever thought possible. I hope they stick to it, too. Wonder what his next venture is gonna be... Quote

He has a new-ish one with Lozo, called Puck Soup. I'm curious if he ends up with The Athletic. Edited September 29, 2017 by Lanny Quote
Brawndo Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 The podcast with Marek has been sparse of late. He has a new-ish one with Lozo, called Puck Soup. I'm curious if he ends up with The Athletic. This is my guess as well. Maybe covering the Devils or Rangers? The Athletic is looking for a NHL Writer for Buffalo as well. There is no way he ends up here though. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 He could work anywhere in hockey writing, and probably anywhere in sports writing. He's got a future. Quote
DarthEbriate Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 Too bad, but he'll land on his skates. The important thing is that he still gets his air time on Star Wars Minute. Quote
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Was very surprised to see wysh tweet this today. Sounded like it was on his terms from what i read and heard, so curious to see where he lands. To anyone that has not listened to Puck Soup, it's a blast. Edit: and MvsW of course Edited September 29, 2017 by BuffaloSoldier2010 Quote

He should really tell the story about the time when someone stole his girlfriend over the internet. Pure comedy good right there. Quote

Now that he's the only actual employee there I'm going to nope out. Quote
shrader Posted September 30, 2017 Report Posted September 30, 2017 Lambert is a distasteful troll. Now that he's the only actual employee there I'm going to nope out. You have no idea how true this is... and I’m not talking about his writing style Quote

nfreeman Posted September 30, 2017 Report Posted September 30, 2017 I like Wysh's hockey writing but don't really like MvW. Quote
shrader Posted October 1, 2017 Report Posted October 1, 2017 Gonna need a link for this. It was at least 8 years ago. I can search but I don’t think I’ll find anything. There was a good running recap on another message board but I’m pretty sure it’s been purged ages ago. Let’s just that a fellow groomsman in a wedding from 4 years ago was the one who stole the girlfriend over the internet. Quote

Two or less Posted October 1, 2017 Report Posted October 1, 2017 I thought his work has dropped lately so the last 2 years or so i barely read his work, but for the previous 7 years or so he was a main go to for my reading. I wonder where he is going to now? The Athletic? Quote
shrader Posted October 1, 2017 Report Posted October 1, 2017 Fine; I'll put my popcorn away. Sorry to get your hopes up. I did search. I think it was lost the same way we lost a ton of posts here. Quote

Sabel79 Posted October 5, 2017 Report Posted October 5, 2017 3 hours ago Jeff Marek announced that he and Wysh are no longer going to continue the MvsW podcast. One would imagine Wysh will be landing at a competitor to Rodgers. Quote
Lanny Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 One would imagine Wysh will be landing at a competitor to Rodgers. Maybe late, but confirmed, Wysh is going to ESPN which I believe is affiliated with TSN, recorded their last episode yesterday Quote
Lanny Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 Jeff MarekVerified account @JeffMarek FollowFollow @JeffMarek More This afternoon we finished up sorting out details on a new podcast we’ll launch in January.
