Randall Flagg Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 He was a little slow to get up... hope that ankle is ok If anything I'd be worried about whiplash there Quote
WildCard Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Everyone wanted a finisher for Jack, well it looks like Pominville is your guy Quote
nfreeman Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 That's it. Plan the freaking parade. Here we come. Quote
MattPie Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 That's what, three points for Eichel on the night? It's preseason, of course. Quote
Huckleberry Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 That's it. Plan the freaking parade. Here we come. I'll book my tickets already. Quote
WildCard Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Is he okay!? He's fine according to twitter Quote
Huckleberry Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Pominville and Kane might both score 30 if they keep this up. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Is he okay!? Yep But I'm going to be nervous from now until I see Jack skating October 5th. I would love it if they shut him down for the rest of these games Quote

Scottysabres Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 So Pommers was the missing link on an Eichel line? Who knew :D Didn't get a chance to listen to the game, where is Reinhart playing? Quote

Marvelo Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Jack's OT rush reminds me of Perreault, with the spectacular end to end rush, beating everybody. The only thing he didn't do was fake out the goalie. How quickly it turned into a 2 on 1. Jack just made a half circle and skated away from the first Penguins player from behind the Buf net as if he was nothing. If only Bert could explain how he did those moves, maybe Jack would understand and pick up some of the Perreault magic. But as Gilbert once said to Danny Gare, "I can't tell you how to do dem, I just do dem." But Eichel has magic of his own. Hopefully his legs hold up and he stays away from the type of dirty players who constantly want to hurt him. Quote

He shoots out of his end on a cannon... begins glide mode and then because his hands are so good he basically just flips the puck over the goalie to score. My take on it is that where almost every player is going to rip a hard wrister on something like that he's throwing the equivalent of a change up. The goalie expects the fast shot and the next thing you know there's this floater sailing by you because you reacted to something that was never there. Changing the direction/speed of the shot at the last second makes a big difference. Man that was beautiful.. And I will keep saying it.. Eichel's game is like Jagr's game. Quote
LGR4GM Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 I don't think it is the speed of the shot but the speed of the release. It is off the end of his stick before the goalie has time to process it. Quote

Eichel scored a weird off-speed goal against TOR last year, I think. Off a screen, but still. And, of course, there is his famous OT winner. I don't think it is the speed of the shot but the speed of the release. It is off the end of his stick before the goalie has time to process it. Also a fair point. Quote
Doohicksie Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Jack has scored a few goals where, even on the replay, I don't pick up the shooting motion. It looks like he's still stickhandling and then all of a sudden it's in the net. I'm sure goalies are similarly surprised. Quote
woods-racer Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 (edited) Third Goal https://twitter.com/matt_bove/status/910314473445056512 It's this goal that has me the most excited right now. A defense-man in front of the net on the rush. He backed the whole Pens team down low setting up the shot by the last skater entering the zone. Tell me the last time a Sabre team has done this? Edit, and puck control from end to end. Edited September 20, 2017 by Woods-Racer Quote
