Brawndo Posted September 18, 2017 Report Posted September 18, 2017 In addition to having Martin Biron replace Brad May on the Broadcast, neither he or Brian Duff will travel to road games. Instead they will be broadcasting the pre and post game shows for road games from PSE Studios at New Era Field. The post game show will now run a full 30 minutes after each road game as well. http://buffalonews.com/2017/09/18/biron-duff-staying-home-work-sabres-road-games-season/?utm_campaign=puma&utm_medium=social&utm_source=Twitter#link_time=1505752281 Quote

Probably works out significantly cheaper production-wise & they'll be able to standardize how they're running the show. Getting a full post game show away from home now that they should be playing 0.500 on the road. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted September 18, 2017 Report Posted September 18, 2017 It seems like a more logical approach, really. Quote
Doohicksie Posted September 18, 2017 Report Posted September 18, 2017 Why do they hate tradition!!?? Quote

Two or less Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 Smart. It was cool having Duffer and May on the road but it really limited their postgame coverage. Based on what Marty said on WGR few weeks ago, they will try to make the postgame shows more educational and break games down more and doing it from Buffalo makes more sense IMO as they have all the resources available and dont have to rush and catch the plane. pi2000 Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 But why New Era Field and not Key Bank Center? Quote
That Aud Smell Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 But why New Era Field and not Key Bank Center? One Buffalo? Srsly: I wonder if the facilities out at OBD are the best PSE has to offer. Quote
sabills Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 But why New Era Field and not Key Bank Center? I believe they have a full production studio there, which is probably why. Quote
darksabre Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 I believe they have a full production studio there, which is probably why. Right. Everything at KBC is just shoehorned into a press box somewhere. The Bills are setup for the NFL, which has an inherently higher production level. Quote
Two or less Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Maybe not even from the get-go but i hope eventually they make their own set for Sabres broadcasts and not just everyone use the studio Peters/Rivet and Murphy/Jones use daily. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Right. Everything at KBC is just shoehorned into a press box somewhere. The Bills are setup for the NFL, which has an inherently higher production level. Plus the Sabres production team and equipment has to operate out of the truck parked in back, which I think is leased. If they have fixed production facilities at the Cap, then this becomes a no-brainer. Quote
