Taro T Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 Got there "late" so really only saw a 3 on 1 -> 2 -> 3 drill & the final hard skate. They were off the ice at 10:07. (I was there at 9:47, heard they were already well into practice by 9:30.) Like I mentioned in the other thread, Nylander & Malone were no shows & Osmonski & Guhle were splitting time W/ Ristoleinen in what I saw. Ullmann was looking good.
Taro T Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 It looks like 2nd session starts at 11 NOT 11:45 as advertised. Only 12 skaters out at beginning of skating drills. No goalies out yet.
Taro T Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 Hard to say W/ only 12 skaters. Guess is: Kane - Eichel - Pominville? Poulliot - Reinhart - ??? (?) Josefson - ??? - ??? (?) Bogosian - Beaulieu (?) ??? - Tennyson (?) Falk - ??? (?) Porter - Deslauriers - ??? (?)

Samson's Flow Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 (edited) John VoglVerified account @BuffNewsVogl 3m3 minutes agoMore Sabres' lines Group B: Kane-Eichel-Pominville Pouliot-Reinhart-Moses Deslauriers-Porter-Bailey Griffith-Josefson-Baptiste Hagel-Glotov So if we interpret the Group A and Group B top lines as the intended top two, we have: Girgensons-ROR-Okposo Kane-Eichel-Pominville Then we have the next two lines give an indication of Housley's thoughts: Pouliot-Reinhart-Moses (placeholder for whoever wins the 3rd RW battle?) Moulson-Larsson-Fasching That seems like a decent start and more along the lines of what we as SS board has been looking for. Is there any player that isn't above that we think should be there? I think Bailey & Baptiste are the obvious next choices, with Josefson as the 13th F? Edited September 15, 2017 by Touched by Boyes

D pairings: Antipin - Falk Tennyson - Beaulieu Budik - Martin Scandella - Bogosian Edited September 15, 2017 by Taro T
LGR4GM Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 (edited) Wonder if Beaulieu wants to play on the right and Antipin indicated he wants the left or vice versus. I just wonder if that has been discussed already. Here's a fun video of all 5 guys attacking https://twitter.com/JourdonLaBarber/status/908689612217966593 Edited September 15, 2017 by LGR4GM
pi2000 Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 Not a fan of Girgensons with ROR, or Pominville with Eichel. Maybe it will work, and I don't really know who else might fit there, so whatever for now.
Taro T Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 Johnson getting beat up high on both sides. Moses nice steal from Scandella in 5 on 5. Got drilled into the boards for it. Wonder if Beaulieu wants to play on the right and Antipin indicated he wants the left or vice versus. I just wonder if that has been discussed already. Here's a fun video of all 5 guys attacking https://twitter.com/JourdonLaBarber/status/908689612217966593 Beaulieu is left on his pairing. Antipin right on his.
pi2000 Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 Any reports on Antipin? Is he NHL caliber?
Taro T Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 Any reports on Antipin? Is he NHL caliber? Haven't been able to focus on him yet. Mainly been at the other end. Looks OK so far in 3v2 & 3v3 be Eichel line.
dudacek Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 (edited) So if we interpret the Group A and Group B top lines as the intended top two, we have: Girgensons-ROR-Okposo Kane-Eichel-Pominville Then we have the next two lines give an indication of Housley's thoughts: Pouliot-Reinhart-Moses (placeholder for whoever wins the 3rd RW battle?) I think Bailey & Baptiste are the obvious next choices, with Josefson as the 13th F? Surprisingly, I disagree with Pi and love Girgs with ROR and KO.I desperately want to see Girgs resurrect the promise of his first years and think that line would be very hard to play against. Also thought Jason would get the first shot with Eichel. Be interesting to see how that plays out. Edited September 15, 2017 by dudacek
North Buffalo Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 https://twitter.com/matt_bove/status/908701554236116992 just put a bunch of post practice interviews up, here is Ristos
Taro T Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 Antipin is definitely short but seems stocky. Doesn't play physical but appears to be good at positioning. Has good speed.
pi2000 Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 Antipin is definitely short but seems stocky. Doesn't play physical but appears to be good at positioning. Has good speed. My concern with him is his stature and how that impacts his ability to win battles and protect the puck in the d-zone. Case in point...
