Is there any scenario where a person here wouldn't draft Dahlin 1st overall?

 

I'm not sure if I'm suppose to say yes or no. Dahlin's the best player, yes.

Presuming the Sabres make a pick at 1, I don't see anyone picking anyone but Dahlin. But plenty of posters would trade the pick for the right guy.

Me: McDavid, Hedman, Matthews, and that's it off the top of my head. Karlsson if he didn't have ankle issues and had a long-term contract. Nobody older than 28 though.

I’m not trading Dahlin for anyone (other than McDavid). Plays a position of need and from every indication is projected to be elite. Those are the guys you find at the very top of the draft if you get lucky enough.

No, well maybe. The team drafting second would have to give us their 2 nd overall and an all-star caliber D or center 27 or under in age signex to a reasonable contract for the next 4 year

Bouchard is a multi-tool player with a ceiling very few players in this draft could boast. But perhaps most impressive of all to me is the calm maturity that he displays, his competitiveness, and the leadership qualities that he possesses. No, at 2 we take svechnikov and 3 zadina. Both are high end wingers we desperately need. Svechnikov has 44g in 48 total games this year. Zadina is a bit more 2 way but also is a sniper.

Also, figuring the top guys into the mix am more interested in 2nd rounder and then value/gems in later rounds. Say like the Samuelson cousins.

Then we have our choice of a bunch of other good prospects: Tkachuk, Wahlstrom, Boqvist, Hughes, etc.

So far I like all the guys below Dahlin pretty equally so I'm not too worried about lotto results. Huge boost if we win 1, but otherwise I don't really care.

I really like the guy projected to go second (I'll butcher the spelling if I try). His numbers are elite. To me it's dahlin the consensus number one, a decent drop to two, then zadina at the top of the next tier which includes about 6 guys.
