LGR4GM Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 This just doesn't look like an NFL qb to me I tend to agree. The issue is he isn't making reads and his just kinda slinging the ball out there. It is fine if he isn't changing the play at the line, I get not doing a lot of that but he's going to his first option on almost every play. It's a game. And now there's some hatred there, so it's fun It's classless. You just beat your opponent, at home, there's already hatred there. Storming the field is classless, plain and simple. Quote
SwampD Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 Maybe celebrating != taunting. (pulls ring) If you're white, it's celebrating. If you're black, it's taunting. (backs out of the room) Quote

I still feel like he's somebody Beane and McDermott would fall in love with unfortunately I still disagree, but oh well. I really don't care about class or morality in sports. the best moments / rivalries in sports are often spawned from rubbing it in or trash talking or something similar. The U was amazing to watch because they were . At the end of the day it's just a game, so do whatever you want on the field really (short of intentionally injuring someone) Quote
ubkev Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 (edited) This just doesn't look like an NFL qb to me Disagree. It's fun, creates rivalries, and, well, why not? I see no downside to it Ok, I'll make a clarification. When Syracuse storms the court I want to throw a remote through the TV. You're Syracuse! It's your barn! You are supposed to win this game! I don't care who it's against. I don't care about almost anyone else. Yes, The Orange are my team. Edited September 11, 2017 by ubkev Quote

If it's the equivalent of playing Hawaii then yeah little too much for me. For comparison, here's Rosen Quote
LGR4GM Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 Rosen goes through his reads and makes solid throws. Mayfield, just seemed to turn and gun most balls. I like Rosen better at this stage. Quote

darksabre Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 It's a game. And now there's some hatred there, so it's fun Football was invented to be a substitute for war during peacetime. And warriors always gotta desecrate a corpse or two. Let's not elevate football to some paragon of virtue. Quote

Yea, Mayfield had some really odd looking throws. I don't know what to point to and say "that was the issue" but there was something that just looked, off. Quote
WildCard Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 Mayfield apologizes for the flag incident, because his school sucks and so does he https://www.fanragsports.com/now/baker-mayfield-apologizes-for-antics-at-ohio-state/ Quote
Eleven Posted September 11, 2017 Author Report Posted September 11, 2017 Yeah, that's something that really merits an apology. Quote

Quick decision making and pinpoint accuracy is why I liken him to Drew Brees. He leads college football in completion %, led it last year (over 70%), and was 4th in the nation as a sophomore. There are plenty of good college QBs out there - probably 5 with legit NFL starter potential. I definitely think Mayfield is one of them. Quote

In the Bills thread we've had videos on them since last year as well. Our takes are far from unique, it's the word on these guys Mayfield has quick decision making because that's what his offense dictates. He leads the NCAAF in completion % because he doesn't do anything but throw the ball where he's told, with less than a second after the snap. I think Mayfield is an amazing college QB, and a backup NFL qb at best Quote
LGR4GM Posted September 12, 2017 Report Posted September 12, 2017 I give 0 about completion percentage. He isn't make quick decisions either. Those throws are going to the player b4 the snap. He isn't making a read. That's a concern. Quote
LGR4GM Posted September 12, 2017 Report Posted September 12, 2017 Completion percentage isn't a good or bad stat. I'm not drafting a qb based off of it though. Quote
HisDudeness Posted September 12, 2017 Report Posted September 12, 2017 It was returning the favor. Ohio State delivered their class song last year after beating Oklahoma on the road. Ohio State deserved it. Ohio State has a tradition of singing Carmen Ohio (Alma mater) after every game win or lose. Quote

Eleven Posted September 16, 2017 Author Report Posted September 16, 2017 Now I had to switch games. Can't watch a 42-7 game. Rosen does NOT look impressive. Quote
Eleven Posted September 16, 2017 Author Report Posted September 16, 2017 Rudolph has been pulled from the game. Rosen just threw a pick-six. Quote
ubkev Posted September 16, 2017 Report Posted September 16, 2017 Rudolph has been pulled from the game. Rosen just threw a pick-six. Love that big 12 offense! Rosen will still win this game. Bet he throws 2 more TD's Quote
pi2000 Posted September 16, 2017 Report Posted September 16, 2017 (edited) Rudolph is killing it. 5TDs in the first half at Pitt. 497 yards passing, 72% comp pcnt. Averaged 48yds per TD pass. Edited September 16, 2017 by pi2000 Quote
ubkev Posted September 16, 2017 Report Posted September 16, 2017 That was a bad, bad read from Rosen. If they were playing a better team than Memphis it would have been crippling. Quote
ubkev Posted September 16, 2017 Report Posted September 16, 2017 UCLA and Josh Rosen just got owned. By Memphis!! Wowza! Quote
