I think this is a great signing. 2.4 million isn't that much for a defenseman. His 28 points last year puts him as the #2 defensive scorer on the team and 9th skater overall. The 2 year term is fine, especially as he's still an RFA. This is a great deal for someone we acquired for a 3rd round pick. The board also seems to buy into HCPH being a "D-whisperer" so I think his game will improve as well.

 

What's not to like about this?

I am very interested to see him play. I know almost nothing about him but hope he is still developing and can turn into a solid player.

So both our new trade acquisitions are said to need more playing time to mature into top players. I hope they get it!
