Even the "old guys" aren't old enough to remember Jordan's heyday.  They probably can barely remember his comeback with Washington.  Okposo was a 9 year old when Jordan retired--the SECOND time.

We're the "old guys."

Yeah, I was thinking that while I posted it.  But I can at least pin my hopes to the fact that they can at least remember a world without Lebron James.

Jason Pominville is the only sabres player old enough to remember a world without Lebron James.

This does not indicate they have a decision. It’s just a list of players who are on ELC that could slide - they have him as definitively staying.

Svechnikov is exempt from the listing, for example. He's the only one technically that they say is a no decision. Dahlin should be too.

James is a bot trying desparately to erase Jordan legacy, but he can’t... 7 championships, Lebron wont touch it...

Or do you think Thompson will stick with the big club?

I think they want him up here for now to try and see how he responds to not playing.  If he gets another shot and nothing changes then I think the message that will be sent is that someone else wants it more than you and they are going to get their shot.

Does anyone know if Eichel works with Adam Oates in the offseason? Listened to a podcast today where Oates was talking about his offseason training, including guys like McDavid, and what he does and does not emphasize; says the biggest things is working on your hands. Anyways, 14 guys had career highs after training with him last summer (sorry, I do not know the names), so it seems like something Eichel should be doing

Very nice, was really hoping he put some time in with him after hearing that interview. Thanks!

I remember watching Oates play college hockey.  Daren Puppa was on that team too.

Niemi in net for Montreal vs Buffalo Tomorrow per Twitter

Screw it, if they want to think of us as still that team I'm all for it. Hope the boys use it as extra motivation and we crush Montreal tomorrow

All I can think of is how working out with Gary Roberts was all the rage around here years ago.

To put my center-depth worries into numbers, in ten games we have 4 points from our non-Eichel centers at 5v5, zero of them goals.

I believe in our boys, and like any fan that does, I want them to have the best chance they can if they look like they might be able to do something. We need to kick start our guys, or make a small move somehow to help them out. I'll stop saying this soon, and it's not any sort of ROR trade shot - improvements elsewhere always have an expense in the big picture.

I'm also a little worried about Scandella and would let him sit for a couple games for Nate, who has outplayed him this year. Not as like a punishment, just to help him get over this hump. He was integral to the first two Montreal goals last night.

We've made good additions and are seeing good growth and I don't want something that could be helped without breaking the bank to bring them down. I'm not sure anything is really available at this point though as teams still try to figure out what they have. Casey is getting better each game, he was excellent yesterday I thought. There's not a huge amount of pressure on him internally, but there is from a sustainable roster-construction standpoint, and I'd like to keep him as insulated as possible.

We are doing a tremendous job of protecting Dahlin so far, from any angle you look. He's not asked to do too much, he never needs to be the reason we win, and his teammates (and himself) keep him safe from dumbos on other teams.

We've found a set of lines, with what we have, that we can roll with, and it's helping us keep taking it to teams shift after shift, without the confusion of the defensive specialist changing halfway through shift nonsense.

We've got some winnable games coming up here.

I don't think this should be the only concern(and Sobotka/Berglund each have 1g) because other than PP pts our bottom nine wings don't have many either. Sheary and KO have all their goals on PP. There should be concern about goal scoring from everyone not on the Eichel line and ES scoring in particular.

With that said, I will be more concerned if we are losing on a regular basis. For now I'm just enjoying what we have.

Honestly I think this guy sounds like a moron. We dominated the Ducks, Habs, and Kings. Since when are the Habs world beaters? An 'off night' lol fck outta here with that

So the Sabres finish in the bottom half of the division, bold prediction moron.  Last I looked Boston, TB and Tor were three of the best teams in the NHL. It’s not exactly a sin to finish behind them.

We will finish ahead of Montreal and Ott.

I hate to say this but many Canadian hockey writers have a blind spot when it comes to the Sabres. They enjoy hating on us and I’m not sure why.  I guess it may stem from the fact that the Sabres despite limited success have basically been better than the Leafs for 50 years.

Also, over the past few years, haven't the Ducks been the team that everyone was trying to get their Dmen?
