Taro T Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Considered taking Johnson or MacKinnon, but in the end went w/ the guy TM should've grabbed 2 years ago to be Eichel's LW: Johnathan Drouin. Not holding being a part of Moe-ray-all's tire fire forward ranks against him. Quote

Winston Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 He's pretty good. Scored 37 goals this year, believe it or not. Yep, only Crosby, Kucherov, Matthews, Marchand, and Tarasenko had more goals. And 30 of his 37 goals were even strength. Only Matthews had more even strength goals (31) Quote

Sabel79 Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 That might be the single most depressing stat I've ever read on here No matter how many goals he scored at even strength, they were all for Carolina. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted July 20, 2017 Author Report Posted July 20, 2017 That might be the single most depressing stat I've ever read on here What if I told you that Matthews had more ES goals last year as a rookie than Eichel has so far in over 140 games in his career? Quote

Thorner Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 That might be the single most depressing stat I've ever read on here Matthews is an amazing player. Looking at his assist totals, with him being a centre, makes me a little bit happier, though. Quote
WildCard Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 What if I told you that Matthews had more ES goals last year as a rookie than Eichel has so far in over 140 games in his career? Nope, there it is. When's the next solar eclipse? Think I'll stare at that next time to avoid reading stuff like this Quote
Randall Flagg Posted July 20, 2017 Author Report Posted July 20, 2017 I was talking about Matthews haha. Nope, there it is. When's the next solar eclipse? Think I'll stare at that next time to avoid reading stuff like this In a month actually. Quote
Thorner Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 What if I told you that Matthews had more ES goals last year as a rookie than Eichel has so far in over 140 games in his career? And Eichel had more assists last year, playing 21 less games, off a high ankle, in a shite system, with little for linemates. I'll take the better playmaker, when dealing with a centre ice-man. Quote
WildCard Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 I was talking about Matthews haha. In a month actually. Perfect, just in time for the Bills too. Quote
Sabel79 Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 I was talking about Matthews haha. D'oh. Made sense when I posted it. Welp, bedtime for me... Quote

Yea, there's no sense fighting it: Matthews is going to be a top-10 player for the next 9-12 years. I hope everyone is prepared for some serious hate watching. Quote

WildCard Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Y'all remember how that went for Sundin, right? Best possible outcome, but still a possible outcome... Personally I hope he takes the Lindros path. Just, you know, without the concussions Quote

WildCard Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Hey, some of us are old enough to have seen less depressing times! FTFY ;) :D My hatred of Matthews is rooted in where he plays. So that'll hold regardless of how good Eichel is. That's about 70% of it for me Quote
Thorner Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 My hatred of Matthews is rooted in where he plays. So that'll hold regardless of how good Eichel is. That's potentially true for me as well, but like I said, if the Sabres are winning the head to head, there's little angst for me. Quote
