GASabresIUFAN Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 The funny thing about doing this is that I have a couple players that I have higher on my board that I hope slip to me. Crazy! Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 Pavelski seems to be perennially underrated. Is there a higher scoring American over the past five years? And I believe the correct pronunciation is EHLERS! I can't stay away from this place and trust this kid with such an important task. I was very clear how he needed to make the pick, as only I would ... EHLERS!! Quote
Winston Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 at 37 overall, I'll take the reigning Vezina winner: Bob Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 Randall, Is your comparative correct concerning PK? I can't believe he was not selected last year. Oh, never mind (maybe?) I think it means that he was selected last time 21st, same as this time round? I that right, eh? Quote

Taro T Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 With pick 38 - #4 for AFLAC! (We'll see if the other D under consideration gets picked by TB or not.) Quote

Thorner Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 There is one guy out there that I know Flagg is freaking out on hoping he falls to him Wouldn't Flagg be hoping whoever that is is drafted as close as possible to where Flagg has him ranked? I'm not picking on you, I just may he confused yet again as to how this is operating. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted July 18, 2017 Author Report Posted July 18, 2017 I'm a little curious who WC thinks that is. Wouldn't Flagg be hoping whoever that is is drafted as close as possible to where Flagg has him ranked?I'm not picking on you, I just may he confused yet again as to how this is operating. Yeah, I don't really care who I pick ultimately, but it is kinda fun getting to say the name of a guy you really like. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 Hard choice, I'm down to Byfuglien and Pastrnak. Frankly I'm surprised that Ehlers and Kessel went before Forsberg, Granlund, Wheeler and Pastrnak. I'm also surprised that Fowler and went before Byfuglien, Letang, Krug, Klingberg and Pietrangelo, This tells me that their will be a run of D soon. Byfuglien has been incredibly consistent. That guy has had 50 pts or more 5 of the last 7 seasons and was easily on his way to that number in the lockout year. His only non 50 pt year was 3 years ago when he missed 50 (had 45 in 69 gp) because of an injury.. The guy also still plays 27 minute a night. Although 32 and I think he has another similar season and in fact could increase his points on a more dynamic Wpg offense. Pastrnak. third in p/gp of all RW's last season and only 21 years old. Had more goals and points then Ehlers in the same minutes. A key piece of the Bruins PP and that isn't changing. Should continue to get better. With the 39th pick, the GASabresFAN selects Dustin Byfuglien (Go Thrashers!). Quote

Haha sorry to poke the bear :P although your response brings up something I often like to think about. Who is the best #19 in the league today? Who is the best at any given number? Some are easy, some are really tough. 19 is actually pretty easy: Backstrom. Unless, of course, someone likes Toews more. Or Cal O'Reilly... Quote

Thorner Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 Jake Guentzel. Flagg! After this (since it's summer) you should run a pool where 16 participants draft a team of 6 players (LW, C, RW, LD, RD, G), then as commissioner you could stick them in a Playoffs Bracket, and breakdown who advances, why, and who ultimately wins. Could be fun - I may be way off, and you may not have the time on your hands, but I thought of it, and you'd be ideally suited as commissioner/analyst/forecaster. Quote
