Weave Posted June 28, 2017 Report Posted June 28, 2017 Gionta gets my vote for last year. I know he doesn't get love because DDB, but the guy played well and didn't get credit for it. Quote

I believe I read that he's still interested in coming back, but has there been any indication that Botterill is interested in signing him? Quote

North Buffalo Posted June 28, 2017 Report Posted June 28, 2017 Ottomh, would say Larsson.Larrson agreed. Quote
Thorner Posted June 28, 2017 Report Posted June 28, 2017 Reinhart. Maybe Eichel, when I think about the national media. Hell, O'Reilly, when thinking about the adoration guys like Bergeron and Toews get for being quality two-way centres. Quote
Huckleberry Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 I can't chose. I got Gionta and Larsson, they played well together , what a force with foligno. It was a great 3rd line. McCabe also played more than we should have expected of him. Reinhart had his moments, but he had a bad stretch in the end, and recovered a bit. Quote
TheAud Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 Lehner...kept the team in many, many games where they were outshot, and was the reason they lost in very few. (I'm ignoring shootouts). Quote

JohnnyK Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 Gorges...Why does everyone hate him so much, all he does is work hard every shift, IMO he will be good as our number 5/6 D-man this year Quote
TheAud Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 Gorges...Why does everyone hate him so much, all he does is work hard every shift, IMO he will be good as our number 5/6 D-man this year I certainly don't hate the guy. Seems like a real stand-up teammate and gritty competitor. I mean, I can see your point. It's his complete lack of offensive skills and slower than molasses skating that makes me wish he was no longer a Sabre. In fact, given his playing time relative to skill level, I'd argue he's one of the most overrated players on the team as he shouldn't be lacing them up in the NHL at all anymore. But that contract...he's probably going to be hanging around another season. Keeping him as a 'character guy', if Housley is willing to put him in the pressbox half of the games and play him in for less than 12 minutes/game the other half, I can live with him on the roster. But that's about it. Quote

Samson's Flow Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 He. Can't. Complete. A. Pass. I'd let him talk to my sister all night, cause you know as soon as he took a pass at her there's no chance it would connect. :flirt: Quote
Skibum Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 Anders Nilsson, by a long shot, although I guess he's technically not on the team anymore. I don't understand it - I saw most of his games last year and he looked really good in all of them. Often better than Lehner, I thought - same net-filling size, but he seems much quicker all around - snappier reflexes and faster at getting back in position after fighting off a tough shot. I thought he should have been given an opportunity to take over the starting job, but management is completely in bed with Lehner. Not that Lehner is bad, I just thought Nilsson looked at least as good, and at a much cheaper price. Quote
