SabresBillsFan Posted December 3, 2017 Report Posted December 3, 2017 Once Jason trades some of these players they will start producing on their new teams. City of Buffalo must be cursed. Quote
ParkMeadow Posted December 3, 2017 Report Posted December 3, 2017 Byron scored two. Actually, Byron with the Hattie! He has turned into a nice player for the Habs. Prior to that he was "undersized" and "injury-prone". Just the Sabres curse that the NHL has evolved back to a speed game while we developed a slow, heavy team, thanks to GMTM's vision. Quote

stuuuuuuuuu Posted December 4, 2017 Report Posted December 4, 2017 Iron Mike certainly wouldn't put up with the laziness and lack of heart that we have been seeing. Given the Brett Hull and Denis Savard Feuds there is a concern about how he meshes with Jack but those guys were established superstars whereas Jack is still a wannabe at this point. Quote
Doohicksie Posted December 4, 2017 Report Posted December 4, 2017 I can't stand playing against Keenan-coached teams, which is probably an endorsement.... Quote
WildCard Posted December 4, 2017 Report Posted December 4, 2017 General manager Ron Hextall came out in defense of his head coach last week, but how long can the Flyers afford to let this group figure it out on the ice before at least making a trade of some sort? “I think that he’d prefer to be patient and wait, but how much longer can he wait,” pondered NHL Insider Darren Dreger during a Monday afternoon radio hit on Edmonton’s TSN 1260. “I don’t get the sense that Dave Hakstol is target No. 1. Again, because he was handpicked by Ron Hextall, I think that Hextall, unless he was pressured from above – and I don’t think that would go well with Hexy – I think he’s a pretty loyal individual. He’d have to see first-hand that the coach is the problem, and I don’t again get the sense that is the case. “So then you’re left with making a trade. And it depends on the pieces that he’s willing to part with. If he were ever willing to trade Wayne Simmonds, well, there would be people lining up to acquire Wayne Simmonds. But beyond that, it gets a little more complicated because anyone looking at the Philadelphia Flyers would be trying to pick his pocket, and would want some of his younger guys. McKenzie and Friedman study struggling Flyers “So I suspect he’s going to try to do something trade-wise; but as hard as we’ve been digging on that front, no names that are significant or that would catch the attention of anyone out there have surfaced just yet. https://www.fanragsports.com/dreger-suspects-flyers-will-try-trade-route/ Quote

WildCard Posted December 5, 2017 Report Posted December 5, 2017 (edited) Eichel's in good companyhttps://twitter.com/ChartingHockey/status/936641493573480448]https://twitter.com/ChartingHockey/status/936641493573480448 Also, Risto and Jack are good on this teamhttps://twitter.com/ChartingHockey/status/937322053623074816 His points per 60 is a respectable 2.41, and his game share per 60 has seen a jump from last season. From a possession standpoint, Eichel has improved in Corsi-for percentage, as well as goals-for percentage. His relative goals-for has leapt from .85 to 15.24, which is an incredible jump for a player on a team that is spiraling wildly out of playoff contention. Eichel is also near the top of the team in shot rates as a measurement of Corsi percentages. Again, the chart provided by Tierney shows Eichel and Pouliot neck-and-neck, leading Buffalo’s forwards. It is little surprise that these two are scoring above expectation given the success in shot rates. Head coach Phil Housley has certainly taken notice of Eichel’s performance, and has increased his ice time by almost 45 seconds per night. For the first time since his career began, he is leading all forwards in average time on ice, which indicates this coach and management staff see him as the No. 1 center; a position formerly held by Ryan O’Reilly. The projection for the Sabres was Cup contention three seasons after Eichel’s arrival. Unfortunately, former GM Tim Murray either didn’t have a solid plan, or didn’t have enough time to execute said plan. There is evidence that the team could see success in the coming seasons. Handfuls of Murray imports and draft picks are driving a red-hot Rochester Americans team this season. It is also true, however, that Murray failed to develop a core around Eichel that went deeper than the line that he plays on. It is impossible for a team to succeed on the production of one line, and Buffalo’s bottom-six forwards are statistically abysmal, followed closely by a litany of underperforming blueliners. https://www.fanragsports.com/jack-eichel-not-to-blame-for-sabres-woes/ Edited December 5, 2017 by WildCard Quote
