Doohicksie
aside from Fleury (Who is highly overrated when with the pens) who was all that great that they were able to pick up and kept? Who were they able to sign before anyone else that was worth it? I haven't followed them enough to really know. I think having a shot at those players was only part of it. What's hurting the Sabres now? Non-productive contracts. Vegas could selectively take on contracts they had high confidence in and aren't saddled with any Moulons. Not just the Pens... Neal... Schmidt, Stoner, Sbisa, Marchesault among other. Yeah, what he said.

Eleven
You want me to say infrequently? Be wary of joining the club of people who thought Vanek was weak, even though he took more lumber in his back in Buffalo than Lisa Ann did in her entire career. The Sabres crash the net on an average basis.
LGR4GM
Maybe it's their lack of getting to rebounds?
Marvelo
Like a tank? We totally should try that. LGR4GM
The Leafs just gave up a 5v3 shorthanded goal. Their team awful, they should trade everyone and burn the arena down, the world is ending ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

bunomatic
New Joysey just did to the leafs what they did to us. Tons of speed, tons of skill and they outworked the opponent. Recipe for success.
TrueBlueGED
Is it possible the Devils are...good? If so, did not see that coming.
darksabre
Ahem. NJ is another team that our fans will sleep on assuming that we should just beat them because they suck. I don't foresee NJ being an easy out.

Thorner
5 points (3G, 2A) for Nail Yakupov in his first 4 games. Is he an early season candidate for the "was too talented to not eventually figure it out" club? It's early, but good start for Nail. Sabre fan
Carolina are a good young team too, and any thoughts of us making the playoffs (haha) rested on being ahead of these2 teams and that isn;t going to happen, Mind you, Boston is just as bad as us and Montreal would be 0-for if they hadn;t played us. Thorner
Word from Dreger is he expects Matthews eventual deal to come it at more than McDavid's. He said he thinks it'll be at $13/13.5 mil per season.

MattPie
That's a terrible idea No no, that is entirely commensurate with the value he adds to the Leafs and frankly, seems like a good deal. The Leafs totally won't be in cap trouble as the cap will just go up. do it Lou! Edited October 12, 2017 by MattPie
