Brawndo Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 Brian Blessing formerly of Channel 4 and Hockey Hotline who now hosts a radio show in Vegas mentioned that one of the Golden Knights Chief Scouts has been scouting Sabres Games and that Zemgus may be a target. Quote
LGR4GM Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 I'll give them zemgus and a 3rd for Suzuki. Quote

Can we trade Larsson first? Quote
Rasmus_ Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 I'll give them zemgus and a 3rd for Suzuki. Zing, well that's not going to happen. Zemgus, Bogosian and Fasching for Tobias Lindberg, Garrison and a 3rd. Clears cap, add's a prospect for Rochester and we say goodnight to Bogosian's Sabre history. Quote

Of all the people to target, why Zemgus? Quote
Drunkard Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 Of all the people to target, why Zemgus? He's young and cheap with some speed. They probably think he's not being utilized correctly here so they are looking to buy low and turn him into a better player. That's just my guess though. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 Yeah, I kind of think they're right. I also think that could get fixed next year with the infusion from Rochester. For all the talk of lack of talent on the Sabres roster, I think the utilization versus the system is part of the problem. Recent talk about "going back to basics" by Housley reinforces my impression that this season is an 82-game training camp for the Sabres and a "reset" year, and that the real system is in Rochester. WildCard Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 Below are the point totals for Laine, Matthews, Eichel, and McDavid this season. Try and guess which one is which Player 1: 21 - 15 - 36 Player 2: 19 - 26 - 45 Player 3: 15 - 38 - 53 Player 4: 21 - 17 - 38 Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 I couldn't guess, I had to look it up. Kind of interesting, especially that the highest total is only #10 in scoring in the league. Quote

I guessed McDavid correctly, but I switched Laine and Matthews. Edited January 23, 2018 by Alkoholist Quote

LGR4GM Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 Sorry, but nope Yea I looked. I got 2 of them right though. The interesting part is how much we believe Eichel is below some of the named players and yet... he isn't at all. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 Not surprised. Doesn't he have the highest single player scoring of his team's scoring total? Other guys simply don't *need* to score that much because they have help. Quote

dudacek Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 The idea that Matthews is a step above Jack should be losing some lustre. It’s not because Toronto, but it should be. Those four make an interesting discussion and the answers will probably change many times over the next 10 years. Quote

Maybe discussed upthread: Matthews' recent goal celebration was fantastic. Can't find a .gif, but after having one disallowed under dubious circumstances, he was emphatic when he won it in OT. Fun stuff. Edited January 23, 2018 by That Aud Smell Quote
