Swedesessed Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 Very solid move! Wonder if this means Montreal will be trading for Brodin? Quote

LGR4GM Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 I am deleting my thread, He is a 6'2" 205lb LHD who will turn 25 in December. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 Solid acquisition in the Daley/Lovejoy/Schultz mold. I had just pulled out to go somewhere without wifi for 24 hours, heard it on the radio in the time it took for me to close my laptop and get in my car, lol. Bye guys Quote
Two or less Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 Left handed. A positive +/- in all but one season (2015-16) but also was a healthy scratch in the playoffs for Habs under Julien. So, some work needs to be done but overall a decent body work. 19 minutes per game last season. Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 His Corsi last year was 50.7% at even strength so that's not awful. Quote
WildCard Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 Excited about this move. No risk, good reward Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 and he can apparently skate! Pierre LeBrunVerified account @PierreVLeBrun 6m6 minutes agoMore Nathan Beaulieu's skating ability should fit in well with how Phil Housley will want the Sabres to play. Good spot for him. Quote
Eleven Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 I'm not seeing a lot of unhappy Habs fans, and I am seeing that he's quite the partier. On the other hand, it's a third round pick for a guy who can play immediately, so that's a good deal no matter what. Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 Excited about this move. No risk, good reward Yup. Chances of #68 being an NHL player are like 15%. nfreeman Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 So this means they protect Risto, McCabe and the FNG, right? And expose Bogo? Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 I just don't understand what Montreal is doing... They need centers and defense and so they trade 2 defenders for a winger and a pick... Botterill I like though. This is the type of trade I wanted Murray to do last year so we didn't have Risto hauling the corpse of Gorges around. So this means they protect Risto, McCabe and the FNG, right? And expose Bogo? Makes sense. They need to sign Beaulie (Baloo) first as he is an RFA. Kris Baker @SabresProspects 2m2 minutes agoMore Sabres traded a 3rd last year for Vesey. Got nada. Sabres trade a 3rd this year for some D help. #WinningTheOffseason Quote

Eleven Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 As long as he is better than our worst defenseman, it's a good move This is absolutely the way to look at it. It's a good use of a third round pick. A great use, actually. So this means they protect Risto, McCabe and the FNG, right? And expose Bogo? Looks like it. Or trade something to Vegas to protect Bogo. Because I think Housley can do great things with him. I just don't understand what Montreal is doing... They need centers and defense and so they trade 2 defenders for a winger and a pick... I-90 W Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 Basically got a dman for free. Our d is already looking better and JB is just getting started. Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 Baloo would be ranked 8th in team scoring last year and 2nd for defenders with his 28pts. 13primary points 5v5 and 12primary points on the PP. That means that 25 of his 28pts were primary. That is a good sign. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted June 17, 2017 Report Posted June 17, 2017 Beauailieuaiaueu would have been second in points on the Sabres D last year. 4 goals, 24 assists in 74 games. (Just kidding Bylsma would have ruined him) Quote
