pi2000 Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 And Capuano will be joining his staff 23. Sounds like Jack Capuano will join Phil Housley’s staff in Buffalo. The Sabres kept goalie coach Andrew Allen, a good call because it sounds like he would have been snapped up quickly if free. Yes, and it can't hurt How was NYI special teams? Quote
North Buffalo Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) If these are accurate not so good: http://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/NYI/2017.html Edited June 21, 2017 by North Buffalo Quote
Brawndo Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Scratch Capuano Now hearing Capuano may be going elsewhere. Audible at the line, I guess. Told Allen is staying. Per Friedman Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 There are many worse things in this world than losing out on Capuano. Quote
WildCard Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 There are many worse things in this world than losing out on Capuano. We got our GM and head coach. We could hire Nolan ad an AC and I wouldn't care at this point Quote
Thorner Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 There are many worse things in this world than losing out on Capuano. He's got a mullet, anyways. Quote
Tondas Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Wouldn't mind Craig Ramsay as an assistant to Housley. Quote
Samson's Flow Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Wouldn't mind Craig Ramsay as an assistant to Housley. I think it's interesting that all these former Sabres keep coming up. Not that they aren't qualified, just interesting. Quote
pastajoe Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Didn't Allen have a good relationship with Cal Peterson? Maybe nothing but maybe a good sign?? They should make it conditional; you keep your job if you convince Peterson to sign with Buffalo. Quote

I'll have to stop that. How about Randy Cunneyworth?? ;) Seriously, Ramsay checks all the boxes. Never succeeded as a head coach, but has been a good assistant elsewhere. And he did play with Housley for a few years. Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 What are the Hunters up to? They still coach an OHL team? Quote
kas23 Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 And what about Rochester? I would say that's a more important coach to hire than guys who are going to help Housley run drills in practice. Quote
tom webster Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Now being reported that Capuano going to Florida. Quote
Brawndo Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 I would bring Tippett in for a year as an Asst Coach Quote
Derrico Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 I would bring Tippett in for a year as an Asst Coach Was just jumping on here to say this. What an add he would be. I'm sure he will be a HC soon but that would be a great transition for House. Quote
WildCard Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 I would bring Tippett in for a year as an Asst Coach Not sure he would but if so that'd be great for us @DarrenDreger As others have speculated. Expect the Panthers to announce Jack Capuano as an associate coach today. Focus on D and PK. Quote
Tondas Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Tippett would be a great add. He's a good coach and deserved better that the Yotes dysfunction. He never said a bad word about the organization although he had every right to. Quote
Brawndo Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 With Capuano focusing on D in Florida, it makes sense he would not be coming to Buffalo with Housley. Maybe the styles clashed? Quote
WildCard Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 With Capuano focusing on D in Florida, it makes sense he would not be coming to Buffalo with Housley. Maybe the styles clashed? More likely Boogieman gets fired before Housley too Quote
Tondas Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 With Capuano focusing on D in Florida, it makes sense he would not be coming to Buffalo with Housley. Maybe the styles clashed? Maybe he just likes warm weather and no state tax. Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Still working on the Andrew Allen decision. Botterill wants him and wants to work with him. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Tippett would be a great add. He's a good coach and deserved better that the Yotes dysfunction. He never said a bad word about the organization although he had every right to. Probably because he ran the entire organization :P Quote
3putt Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 maybe we will draft an assistant with the 5th rounder. #assetmanagement Quote
dudacek Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Worked good when we traded that third for Bylsma Quote
