WildCard Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Can we re-pin / re-name this? This is what my brain said, but I can't deny there was some movement south of the border. I think that's how most wars are started Quote
Brawndo Posted June 23, 2017 Author Report Posted June 23, 2017 Friedman on E. Kane: "I think he could be moved. Buffalo has got a lot of irons in the fire. I think they want to do some things." #Sabres Friedman: "I wouldn't be surprised if people have also asked Buffalo about Sam Reinhart." #Sabres Friedman was on SN 960 Wild here is the tweet https://twitter.com/nicholsonhockey/status/878251385833218048 Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Trading Reinhart probably won't end well. The impact of Byslma's terrible dump and chase system cannot be underestimated in its impact on Reinhart. Quote

The impact of Byslma's terrible dump and chase system cannot be underestimated in its impact on Reinhart. I'll trade Reinhart if the return is an offer we can't refuse. That's it and nothing less. Brawndo Posted June 23, 2017 Author Report Posted June 23, 2017 Vatanen may still be available per LeBrun. Looking for a scoring forward in return Quote

WildCard Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 @DarrenDreger As @PierreVLeBrun reported yesterday, the New Jersey Devils remain a contender for Alex Galchenyuk Quote
ubkev Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Reinhart, Kane and our 1st for Ovechkin. :P Done Quote
WildCard Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 @DarrenDreger Arizona is working on landing a goalie, a centre and a D. I believe Chicago's Niklas Hjalmarsson interests the Coyotes a lot Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 I continue my stance that eventually trading Reinhart could be a good move, but doing it this summer would almost certainly not be. Quote

Tondas Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 (edited) I continue my stance that eventually trading Reinhart could be a good move, but doing it this summer would almost certainly not be. How so? If he falls flat on his face this year and is a bust, we'll get nothing for him next year and we'll all agree that we should have traded him now. If he turns into a superstar, then it's obvious we wont trade him. Waiting does the Sabres no good, unless you're SURE he will become a superstar. No one is sure. If he can be traded for a sure thing now, I'd take it. Now, what player is a sure thing that we could get now? Edited June 23, 2017 by Tondas Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 That's what people said about Saad. Fair enough. But man, who takes Hammer's spot in that lineup? Their top-4 is already lackluster since Seabrook's implosion. Quote

If he can be traded for a sure thing now, I'd take it. Now, what player is a sure thing that we could get now? He's not falling flat this year. He's 21, has some of the best underlying numbers on the team, and increased his production in another year of dump & chase, which is categorically the worst type of hockey system for his skill set. He might not grow, but then his value will still be that of a 45-50 point winger. Quote
