Not only another former Penguin, but a two-time failed GM and the orchestrator of the most blatant tank prior to ours. Will the horrors never cease? ????

Cool I guess?

Wiki says he has experience as a GM, although doesn't sound like he was very successful in that role:

Randy Sexton (born July 24, 1959) is a Canadian ice hockey executive, businessman and former athlete. He is currently the Director of Amateur Scouting for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He most recently was the general manager of the Florida Panthers of the NHL. He was one of the founders of the Ottawa Senators NHL club in OttawaOntario. He later became the Senators' second general manager.

Somewhere in the not too distant future every word in this thread will be said about TIm Murray on another team's board.  He'll be heading up a scouting department somewhere.

I also hear Cody Sexdgson was a candidate for this slot.

That sounds like something you'd need a tor browser to find.  Not that you'd want to see it.

Something something no Os or D whatsoever...  wait a minute, there's one in there if you stare at it long enough...

You know what it sounds like?  I'm still trying to figure out how that would be pronounced.

Great hire if true. When would he come, after the draft like Brandon Beane did from Carolina or would he still want to jump ship before the draft and get working with his new team?

After the draft. He runs Pittsburgh's Draft per Paul Hamilton

So they probably won't let him go before that.

I get it, but isn't that a pretty major conflict of interest? If he's about to leave what incentive does he have to get Pittsburgh the best players instead of Buffalo?

I know the incentive is "because its the right thing to do", good work ethic, or professional courtesy, but really...this world is hyper competitive. I feel like its surprising that this stuff happens as often as it does.

It's a small world, you don't wanna be that guy. Also the gm could intervene.
